It was a little stressful at first being the new girl etc and also no one had done my job before so although its nice to have a blank canvas there is alot of working setting up systems etc but it was nice 'stress' if there is such a thing
I can certainly relate to that! The worst job I ever had (and it should have been the best because it was my dream job) was one where I succeeded someone in the post who'd been a bit of a legend. He was also something of maverick and the powers that be wanted me to go in as a 'new broom' and change a lot of things. But all my work colleagues adored the guy who I replaced and I was forever getting "Alex always did this/that" or "That's not how we did things when Alex was here" . Was I fed up with it all????
Eventually things settled down a bit but I used to wish that it had been a new post and I was setting it up my way from the start.0 -

Surfbabe, so sorry to read about DSs break in - that really is a complete hassle in the most pants sort of way (wanted to use words that the swear filter would edit, but no point really as they would all be !!!!!!!!!s). I hope it gets sorted soon and that not too much is missing that cannot be replaced.

Thanks Hypno - hopefully it will only (!!!!) be the television and printer thats gone - laptop was here with him. He's having to change rooms as well so everything has to be moved once the police have fingerprinted etc. that includes all his kitchen stuff. Have to admit we've waiting for it to happen as his room was a downstairs one at the end of the block aurrounded by trees !!!! Thank goodness he has insurance.
So my assignment is still on the back burner at the moment as I spend two hours talking to the Univeristy and the POlice and DH deciding what to do.
Ho Hum - back to work for another half and hour - have managed to get the thank you letters all done and in envelopes and written up the registers for tomorrow when we go back to school.

Wow, brilliant news that you can start work on Monday. Good luck with the self-organisation - I'd help as I'm super-organised and brilliant at getting things done, shame I'm so far away

Noticed loads of people asking about Sun Holidays: We've done loads of them in the past few years, and got our proprity booking form the other day.
This year's starts on Sat 5th Jan, and you normally need 7 tokens. The holidays are generally late spring/early summer, and it's a short break Fri-Mon, or Mon-Fri that you get.
For people who've done it before they offer online bookings as well, (they might also offer that for new bookings - not sure) so you only need the codewords off the tokens. I'm sure we'll all be able to share them amongst ourselves for any that we've missed! Only flaw with that is that not all parks are bookable online. The big bonus is that you can choose the dates and destination there and then rather than having to fill in a form and hope for the best! Occasionally people sell their booking forms on Ebay which can be worthwhile if you can't provide the dates for a postal booking - it's just the reference number you need to gain access to the booking system (or was last year anyway).
It is £9.50 per person, minimum payment for 4 people. You pay that when you book. You also have to pay service charges to the park directly before you go (different parks have different charges but it's usually a fixed amount per night, £4 or so) and you pay for entertainment passes (£2-£8 per person) depending on which park you go to. If you're on a super-tight budget, some parks offer free passes on certain dates.
My personal tips for finding the best park include: go by the star rating, we only ever go 4* or 5*, and even those can be ropey! Pick parks which have ONLY caravans, rather than chalets - the chalets are generally the very worst of the accommodation, and are pretty dodgy - you're more than likely to be allocated one of those on a Sun hol! Take a look on the individual holiday park's website as that can give an idea of the normal price of the holiday. We've had hols for £38 before that should have cost £400, others that would have only been about £79... no prizes for guessing which were better quality! And unless you're really keen, don't go too far from home - we went to Cornwall once which took about 9 hours each way - not much of a 4 day break left!
So long as you're not expecting luxury it's well worth a go! We'll be doing one again although with baby expected it'll probably be very close to home this time!0 -

Hi guys!! I will def be looking out for the Sun hols - we have loads of decent sites within an hour of us, so even if we just go to one of those for a few nights it will be a break and a change of scenery!
Mystery shops all logged and submitted, so I feel justified in adding them to my £10 a day total :j Time for a quick coffee and then off to collect the kids and get them to karate. Thankfully they are eating with their friends so don't need me to fit in a meal somewhere for them.
In my new organised (ha ha) state, I have decided to complete the name tapes and get the kids clothes packed this evening, and to commit to doing the assignment tomorrow. It has to be in on Tuesday, so not long really, and I haven't even started to look at it.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. OK so where are we ALL going with the Sun ? Can you imagine the disgust at the overpriced shop when we all arrived fully stocked up and not needing to pay their inflated prices !!I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0
