I’ve followed this thread and posted something similar please add me to the support group. Hardly sleeping and going crazy waiting. Application submitted Monday. I’ve seen 2 soft searches and a hard search all on the 4th. Same day underwriter had queries. Sent back proof of payment for one of the accounts and confirmed personal loan would be paid off prior to exchange. Now the waiting is soooooooo painful 😣Kiwistrawb1990 said:I'm definitely not a weirdo off the Internet and absolutely a real life female so if you two want me to set one up PM your fb names and I will happily set up the 'mortgage application support group' fb chat 😂😂😂0 -
I've PMd you! Keep deep breathing and doing what I'm doing and just pretending it's not happening 😂😂1

As I previously said, I have made an application for a new built shared ownership flat with Halifax on May 7th. Last Thursday I have chased them as the evaluation is the only thing that is missing in order to have the mortgage offer. Well they put me through three different departments and made me call Esuv to only find out that they did not even instruct them. In the end they have told me that they are prioritising new built evaluations as well as vacant properties. The lady over the phone was very nice and she told me that she has instructed them but she doesn't expect anything to happen in the next couple of weeks. The wait is very excruciating taking into account that I have been waiting since October to buy a flat!0

@Lorenzo94 did you hear that your mortgage application was accepted before then? Xx0

They have just told me that all the documents that I have submitted have been accepted, and that the evaluation is the only thing needed. So I guess it will be accepted hopefully.Kiwistrawb1990 said:@Lorenzo94 did you hear that your mortgage application was accepted before then? Xx
- UPDATE
After chasing Halifax again, the managing agent called Esuv (Halifax's choice of surveyors) and booked an evaluation for Wednesday next week. I hope everything goes well. Anyone know how long does it take for Halifax to process the offer once the evaluation is done?1 -
I have submitted my application on 19 May through a broker, still have no news on the valuation date. Is this odd? The property is new build, I'm the 1st time buyer and have HTB approved. I have excellent credit score and very clear accounts. Broker keeps saying they are chasing with Halifax for valuation scheduling, but not is moving forward
Also, since I am completely new to the credit system in the UK, how do I check if the searches have been done? Thanks lots! Good luck everyone! 0 -
Dying to know how you both got on. Been following this thread for a while.Kiwistrawb1990 said:I'm definitely not a weirdo off the Internet and absolutely a real life female so if you two want me to set one up PM your fb names and I will happily set up the 'mortgage application support group' fb chat 😂😂😂Looks like you both are a couple of weeks ahead of me.Bit of a background:
- AIP from Santander 26th May.
- MB then submitted application with Halifax due to a better rate- soft search done with Halifax 04/06
- hard search 16/06
- bank details sent to MB for valuation fee 17/06
hoping it’s all going ok, people have said that the valuation is like the second tick in the box.0 -
We were declined from Halifax due to an underwriter mistaking a historical default for a debt management plan. We appealed and annoyingly didn't get anywhere. We have reapplied with Natwest and it is going wellalw88 said:

Ah that sucks that the underwriter messed up! Well done on the progress with NatWest though!
honestly the anxiety is killing me.I too was pretty shocked that the MB is going to a high street lender for mine.My experience score is just about in the fair category, 2 defaults from 2017 and a 15% deposit.
im just hoping there not gonna be more strict with the effects covid have had on the economy0
