De-lurking to say that I use Versatile veggie chilli | Jamie Oliver chilli recipes as my go-to recipe. I double it up to bulk cook 8 portions - works out at 70p per head.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3663

I have the Lidl app and I was using it regularly but a few things changed in my routine and I now only go to Lidl sporadically (Aldi's location works better now) but after a couple of months, they sent me a £5 off £25 spend voucher which I made the most of and combined with normal weekly discounts.
The app is easy to use and we saved money using it, but I don't shop at Lidl because of it.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

oooh yay! Loving the chat on here!!
@Cheery_Daff thanks so much for popping over, I absolutely must catch up with your diary! Great tip! We do have one in the city! I will definitely go and take a look! Again I'm not sure lidl sell it. Mine is only a small shop and unfortunately they don't do the Filo pastry either. Is it something that B&M might do? I don't go in there much, but maybe I should!!!
@JGB1955 Love this! Thank you, we LOVE chilli in this house, and i make it into burritos for the children by just adding rice and wraps, they don't like chilli apparently... but love burritos!!! And thank you for delurking! you're welcome any time!!
@rugbymadfamily oooh I didn't realise that! You should see the state of my phone, from constantly touching it with 'cooking fingers'And I didn't realise there was a good food app!!!! That's great I will download that now!!! Very happy!
@WelshKitty85 and @Baileys_Babe Yes I do have the lidl app, but it wouldn't work for me yesterday and since then I can't seem to see any coupons on it. Will have another look today.
Realised at 10pm last night i didn't have any cereal bars, so I made some banana bread for the children's lunches, they've also taken in some of yesterdays dinner too. Today I felt like a good mum, I even managed to get the children to read and do their spellings before school! Managed to get to the gym and do any early class, even though I couldn't be bothered, so at least thats a tick off of my list. I've since come home and written up an eating plan for a client and have a call at 1400. I've also programmed for my children's classes today. So i have an hour and a half to chill and write my shopping list. May pop to lidl again between call and school pick up and get the rest of the shopping, going to set myself a £20 limit and see what I can get. I just typed £30 but then changed it to £20. I can do this. Going to cobble together the £1s in my purse and around the house to pay for it.
So far food today has been:
breakfast
shredded wheat
children had bagels
early lunch
egg and mushroom roll
children have pasta, 4 x fruit, banana bread and a chocolate bar
Dinner

Hey @rugbymadfamily I managed to dash around lidl in all of 20 minutes but in the rush I’ve lost my receipt. Devastated doesn’t even cut it. To the point I’ve spent 20 minutes trying to find it!
But I got so much for £26. I also got oranges, hand soap and bananas which weren’t on the list. I couldn’t get everything. I still need to go to Tesco. So far I’ve spent around £53 this week and need about £15 more but then I’ll have enough for around another 10 dinners. And should only need to go in for bread and bananas and milk in those 10 days. So say another £10 on top. So my plan is to get to Monday week and spend £15 in Tesco and another £10 on top up! We’ll see how we go!
Have had a very trying afternoon, teaching children fitness can be very rewarding but also horrendously challenging! I had a VERY challenging child today! I was smiling through gritted teeth all session! OH treated us to fish and chips for dinner. I didn’t have any meat and only had a chip butty, so I think in total it was less than £10 and a really nice treat!Just finishing the bottle of wine. This sounds bad but it’s from a week and a half ago and there’s only a glass left! Have a busy day tomorrow of running around taking May to dancing then work. Need to make packed lunches as OH was going to get a meal deal so I nipped that in the bud! And I need to maybe train and clean everything. Probably get home around 3-4. Saturday is always a super long day!Round friends on Sunday for bbq in their garden! Very excited. Apparently we’ve got steak, Stilton sausages, potato salad, feta salad and then Eton mess.5 -
Did your Lidl app work this time? If so, your receipt will be stored on there.
BBQ sounds wonderful. Can I come??2 -

@rugbymadfamily and @Baileys_Babe Yes!!!! I updated it!!!! And used it! Thank you so much! I didn’t realise it saved the receipt. V happy!
And I agree the bbq does sound lovely. I feel bad, when they’ve come here, we’ve just had take away!
Feeling very lazy! Cat is all curled up on me! So can’t be bothered to move!
