Up super early today! OHs alarm woke me up at 5 he finally finished snoozing at 5.30, I was going to have to get up at 6 anyway, so I made myself a cup of tea and woke up listening to classic fm. Really didn’t sleep as I was so grumpy with OH.Finished my client, just sorting children ready for school. Have a class, not a strenuous one hopefully. Then home to sleep and sort stuff. Really can’t be bothered to work this evening either but hey ho.3

I don't know if it's helpful (and I am trying to help) but I read a book called 'The book you wish your parents had read' and it said that with children when they are having negative feelings (e.g. jealousy, anger etc) parents should acknowledge their feelings, as you can't change how someone is feeling. I think it said that they will then learn to manage their feelings themselves.
I really don't know if it is applicable to adults and I really don't know how you use this information to help you!
My OH can be the same sometimes and I always try and encourage him to think of the positives and it never really works!
I hope you have a good day and he is feeling happier today.3 -
Wow thank you @remote_control I really appreciate that! I just get too emotional and think how it effects me and how well I’m having to deal with the same situations. It even entered my head whilst I was standing there arguing that I should just be quiet. Not everyone is always on the positive bus. I make a choice to be that way, I guess some people can’t. Thank you for that insight! It’s actually really really helpful! X3

After a bit of a grumpy start. I feel a lot better. After thinking I have also apologised for jumping in at OH. He's entitled to say how he's feeling. He can't be happy all the time.
So after a workout, I came home and had a little sleep. OH came home and gave me a cuddle. Then hes gone down to the city for his eye check up. It’s a good 3
hour drive,

later. I've got work later, but have been doing some work at home and I've been having a lovely time watching 'Thrifty cooking in the Doctors Kitchen'. So many amazing recipes! I'm going to print them out hopefully tomorrow.
Trying to move away from the maggi bags as they're just not good for the environment and trying to not use as much meat. I've got my instant pot out and I'm going to have a look at that. Ive no idea how it works?!Because I've changed the times I work out, I've given myself more time at home to do things. Which is a huge change from last week.
Very hungry actually, need to make something to eat as start work in 2 hours.4 -
Have a look online for healthy recipes you can make in the Instant Pot. One of my favourite sites is SlimmingEats for healthy recipes - both meat and veggie.
Glad you've changed the times you work out so that you've given yourself more time at home to do things.

Hey @Kakiste I’m just catching up with your diary! Was not up so early this morning. And thanks @joedenise I will check out that website!OH is just out on a course and I’m going to meet him for coffee later. Usually I’d have had at least 2 take out coffees so far this week. But I’ve taken a take out cup from home instead a couple of times. And I didn’t get a cake on the way back from the walk in centre the other day, which I’ve done in the past. I’ve also made OH 2 packed lunches instead of spending £4 on a meal deal. So that’s about £20 saved this week!
House wise....Have just emailed the solicitor to let her know what’s happening and asked if there’s anything we can do her end to get things moving whilst waiting for the accountant. This is so frustrating!
Currently sat watching ‘Thrifty cooking in the Drs kitchen’ again! I’ve got some amazing ideas. What I’m going to do is cook mostly veggie food for us all but just put a chicken breast on the side for OH. For the past 2 days I have actually managed to get in my 5 a day!3 -
That's a great idea @missymoo81 if DH insists on meat every day! My DH used to be like that but he's getting better and there are a few veggies meals he enjoys.
Have thought of another site what might be worth looking at and that's Jack Monroes www.cookingonabootstrap.com
- it's mainly veggies meals (in fact the later ones are vegan) but there are some that include small amounts of meat which might help you out with DH needing meat!
Definitely much easier to get your 5 a day in when you have at least some veggie meals.

Oooh thanks @joedenise Jack Monroe was actually on the programme I’ve been watching! I think I used to have her book but it got lost somewhere between houses! I’m going to go online and have a look at her recipes too. Over the weekend I’m going to print a load of recipes out and put them in a ring binder (think I have a spare one), and choose recipes from there and shop accordingly. I bought a pack of chicken breasts for £4.79 which should last OH all week. This is very different to me spending £3.30 for a pack of chicken for us both per day!!!! Have ideas for hearty veggie stews and filo pies. Randomly does anyone k own if lidl sells filo pastry. It’s super expensive everywhere I’ve looked. I’m still trying to be good on calories and macros but in a different sort of way. Really loved having a basket full of fruit and veg, when Roo and I popped to the shop on Tuesday!

Lidl sell filo pastry sheets! Ive used it before making goats cheese and sweet potato types pies which were excellent!
My husband was also raised on a "dinner must be meat and 2 veg" but is coming round to the idea of veggie meals. Some of them are sneaky (jacket potato cheese and beans or filled pastas with a tomato sauce) lol but others are more obvious like bean chilli's and things. I did get the 2 bikers veggie cookbook for Christmas, really must get it out!Current mortgage (1 Jun 2022): £289,501 - originally £351,999 got to love London sized mortgages!
OP Goal 2022 = 3.75% in OPs: £6,975 / £13,200
