Hey! Well I’m super tired today but positive.
Have worked and programmed and done a workout and have picked up the shopping from Sainsburys. It’s so nice to have full cupboards again. Up super early tomorrow for work then have Roo all day for home schooling need to do my accounts.

so me and OH have been talking and we have a 1 year plan to buy a house, not this one, hopefully a better one. So I need to pay off the sofa and my over payment from HMRC before this time!

I have finally got through to OH about saving money!!! It’s like a lightbulb, now he has something to work towards (a house that he actually wants rather than a make do!). So have spoken to him about leaving the shower running for ages before he gets in, food bills, going for cheaper options etc etc.  So fingers crossed it sticks. Am so excited by the prospect of owning a house I want rather than making do and buying this one (not that we can afford either right now 🙄)

living here is ok, but someone is constantly letting their dog poo in our grass, teenagers are smoking weed in the park outside our house, razzing up and down on motorbikes. We’ve got drug users next door but one and v v Very noisy kids next door and behind!

So  my task tonight is to make 500g of mince make 2 nights worth of chilli and 2 nights worth of bolognese! Wish me luck!

Good news missy that OH seems to have had his light bulb moment!  Let's hope he's listened to what you've talked about.

With regard to the mince I'd suggest stretching it with some red lentils (they disappear into the mince), some dried soya mince (just rehydrate with some hot water or you can add a beef Oxo cube to increase the beefiness) and then plenty of veg like carrots, courgettes, mushrooms (grated if you need to hide the veg from the kids!).  Extra tins of tomatoes, beans etc.  It's amazing how much you can get into 500g of mince!  Good luck.

Hey @joedenise thanks for posting. I did indeed bulk it out with veg and lentils and oats. Think I’ve managed it! The chilli was lovely and I’ve saved some for bolognese but I think they’ll be enough chilli to add to it left over too.

So we’ll have chilli tomorrow and children will have burritos and we’ll have bolognese the next 2 days.

Burritos are a great idea as helps stretch the food further as don't need so much of it!  Another thing I do if we only have smallish portions left is to serve it over jacket potatoes - which is what I'm doing for lunch today with some veggie chilli from the freezer.

Actually thinking it about if there is virtually no meat left in it just call it a veggie chilli :)!

Ooh yes jackets would be good! Might do that tonight thanks!
Have lots to do today! Have just done the first load of washing and hung it up. Did my 0630 PT and went to get Roo from his dads for his home schooling today. Have another PT at 10. Need to print off a load of accounts stuff but am waiting for an Amazon order to be delivered for the paper! Have the dishwasher to unload and reload and kitchen to clean and tons of washing to put away! I love doing washing but hate putting it away! So lots to do! Love a home day though 🥰.

if I get off my bum now I could get another load in the wash.

I find it best to fold the washing as I get it in from the line or if I've had to tumble dry or put it on the airer I do it on our bed I have to fold and put it away before we can go to bed!  Certainly concentrates the mind on getting it done quickly!  Have to admit though I don't do ironing of much stuff but if I do it gets put away immediately after I've finished the pile.  I hate having washing hanging around anywhere!

I have got better, they are sorted into rooms but just takes ages to put them away!
I’m sat watching the Royale Family’s Xmas special, so funny!
I managed to do 2 loads of washing, unload and reload the DW, wipe the worktops, do the litter tray and the bin. I also phoned the landlord.

OH is asleep 🙄 he doesn’t cope that well getting up early, and we were both up at 5. Although I seem to cope just fine 🙄🙄🙄 men!

Nice to hear you sounding positive and with a plan for a house.  Good that DH's on board too :)

  • Just catching up with your diary @missymoo81! Sounds like you are really motivated with your house savings goal and I’m pleased your OH is on board 🙂 I think having a really clear goal & plan makes such a difference!

Ah thanks lovelies. Not so positive today.
business is not doing well, so many cancellations. OH Is very stressed and very negative he’s currently in bed as he was up half the night stewing with worry. We both massive tax bills we weren’t expecting. Currently laying on the sofa watching a Christmas film and drinking tea.
