I always do 1 chicken breast between 2 of us when I’m making curry, pasta or anything that can be bulked up with veg. I only use 2 for fajitas as the lack is noticeable in wraps. I’m not very good at saving on food though as it’s one of life’s pleasures, but I do try to reduce meat consumption. I would struggle to cut down on chocolate or biscuits so you are doing really well!Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Hey Suzanne, me and OH are spending about 2 hours weight lifting / cardio etc every day so we need a lot of protein especially OH, he needs an awful lot of calories too so he doesn’t lose weight. It’s a difficult one as protein is far more expensive than carbs. I know you can get protein from legumes and veg etc, but not a lot.
I’m sat watching a Christmas film and drinking tea, perfect!2 -
Forgive me for I have sinned. I bought Roo a hoodie on eBay for £5 as he hasn’t got any that fit. And it has come out of my bank account 😢. Needs must.1

Tbf if he doesn't have any that fit then it's a need. It's not like you're frivolously spending for the sake of it.
Sounds hard going at the moment for you. Fingers crossed work can go back to normal on the 3rd December.Bottom line;

Thanks @kakiste he literally owns one jumper! I’m going to get him another for Christmas so in total he will have 3 and that will do. Refrained from buying May more pyjamas even though they were cheap. I’ve ended up spending another £48 today on leggings. I tried bowering some bright pairs for work but they’re too big and someone complained that they couldn’t see me against the black floor on Saturday. So there’s lots of sales going on at the moment, so instead of my original £125 for 2 pairs of leggings and a bra, I’ve just gone for 3 bright pairs of leggings for £48. I could have possibly got away with 2 but 2 was £40 with delivery and 3 was £48. So I opted for the latter in the hope I can just sell them after. Or if I don’t actually wear them, send them back. Really haven’t got the money for it and have taken it out of emergency fund but think I get my tax deducted against it as it’s uniform.... 🤷🏻♀️.
OH is in a foul grumpy stressy type of mood with work and technology. I’m staying out of his way. Hate it when he’s like that as really effects my mood too.And the internet isn’t working for some reason! So no printer, Netflix or YouTube for me until we work out what’s wrong with it. The no printer thing is v annoying. We’re supposed to be going to work at 4 to do some training then a class via the internet, fortunately the internet works at work! Although we usually do the 0630 class in the morning from home, so that means we may have to get up earlier tomorrow to drive into work 🤦🏻♀️. No idea what’s wrong with it! It’s with a really random company too as no big company supplies to here.Food wise, we’ve had toast for breakfast and then toasted sandwiches for lunch, and we’ll have the rest of the sausage stew for dinner. Thank goodness there are lots of veg in it as we haven’t had any yet. Might grab a banana in a mo.2 -
Update, internet is fixed! Did work and workouts and OH snapped o it if his mood very quickly so it was all good. Managed to set a personal record on my weight lifting today! So am super excited about that!Just sat with a cup of tea relaxing until we go to bed. Have a very early start tomorrow will be up at 6, but at least we don’t have to drive into work until 9.15.
OH nipped you Tesco and bought cat food and bin bags which will help me try stay within budget.I’m picking the children up from school tomorrow then we’re going to Tesco/lidl. Then we’re going to come home and make some jam thumb print buns for packed lunches.1 -
Had a very busy day doing lots of work stuff. Didn't get chance to go shopping so going after the school run tomorrow. Have work In less than 6 hours!!! Had toast, toasties, cereal and Thai green curry to eat today, have been emptying down the freezer, to save money more than anything. It’s great though as have made some lovely things and can actually see what I have left in the freezer now. Mostly fruit it would seem.
managed to use up my courgette and butternut squash! Has really helped having the veg in the shelves as opposed to in the drawer as I can see what needs using.Hopefully we can get more of the hall painted tomorrow.4 -
Argh Am exhausted May was up most of the night she just couldn’t sleep. I got about 2 hours sleep. Have already done an hours online PT. just watching a film with the children then off to school. Going to go back to bed for a while after the school run. Got work again tonight. Will go shopping at some point today. Have enough stuff for breakfast.1

Just been outside and over the past few days we’ve had some cat poo on our front lawn, rather annoying but today have gone out and there is a HUGE pile of dog 5h!t on the lawn!!!!! !!!!!!! How has somebody let that happen! Not at all happen! It’s actually the second time I thought the first was just a big cat but there’s no denying this! OH Is outside now fitting a camera in the hope we can nab who it is!!!! Has really got me! It feels deliberate!And breathe! Well I’m just eating a v late second breakfast of porridge then off to the gym, was supposed to be painting this morning but that hasn’t happened. Still haven’t been shopping. Definitely will by tomorrow evening, might be able to eek out a spaghetti bolognese with Ingredients we have. And should have enough for breakfast tomorrow, so might just leave it until after school pick up tomorrow. Which is great! Stretches the budget that much further!2

We have exactly the same problem @missymoo81 with the dog and cat !!!!!! on our front lawn - it doesn't help not having fencing round the garden but it's impossible where we live. We know which cat it is but don't know who it belongs to but no idea about the dog(s) - think there is more than one judging by the different sizes!
Have you got a tin of beans in the cupboard? You could add that to the Bolognaise sauce plus some chilli flakes and call it a chill and serve with some rice instead of spaghetti. I often do things like that to stretch a bolognsaise! Yesterday I got a chilli out of the freezer and there wasn't enough to serve us both so I added a tin of black beans which was in the cupboard and we didn't really like (I'd bought them to make Cajun black bean soup originally) - certainly did the job even if it meant there was more beans than meat!
