@missymoo81 I think the Lidl Plus app is available until mid October but it has to be used within 2 weeks of downloading and activating it. I downloaded it before I went shopping last week and forgot to activate it so couldn't use it and unfortunately the cashier thought she'd be helpful and download it for me but I didn't want to do another shop there within 2 weeks so unable to use it! Absolutely fuming as I would have activated it when I get back from holiday at the end of September to use for October shop. So as long as you download it and activate it before you go shopping on Tuesday you should be able to use the £5 off £25 spend.

Ah @joedenise I’ve just downloaded it but it’s only valid until the 30/08. So definitely can’t use 😢. Wondering whether to get my @rse in gear and go Sunday but then the fresh stuff needs to last 13 days and that’s asking a lot.... thanks so much for looking at the app though lovely.2

Sorry about that but thought when I saw it on the weekly email that it said it was valid until mid October because I'd planned on using it for my October shop. Oh well, never mind.

Glad you've been enjoying Wales @missymoo81.
Re: the sweets, I would have thought buying bigger bags and splitting would be cheaper - do you have any little snack boxes you could use instead of bags? I do similar with dried fruit/cereal/bread sticks for mine (but mine are younger so still at the stage where I have loads of little plastic boxes from doing weaning so cheap as I have them anyway!) Or put them in baking paper/foil twists if you have those but no boxes?
I know Aldi does a cheap version of mini eggs at Easter so Lidl/Aldi might be good places for other cheap sweets.Mortgage December 2023: TBC

You can get boxes of sweets from amazon...I’m not sure if it works out cheaper, but I currently have a Fini raspberry and strawberry pencil addiction...they come in boxes of 100 so last a long time. Some sweet and chocolate bargains are to be had on there, but search by price order to pick them out xNot all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

glad you're enjoying your holiday even with the blisters. We haven't been to Wales for about 10 years but the views everywhere we went were amazing.
DD3 has recently been asking to go on holiday in an aeroplane but she wants to go to Wales or ancient Greece 🤣 sure she thinks it was abroad.
When we bought sweets in bulk from the wholesale it worked out really cheap to make the sweet bags for DDs party. Mine seem to have way too many biscuits as treats, we go through at least 1 pack a day.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

Finally we’re home! Such a long journey. Got home to poo stained carpet and the whole house reeking of cat poo. We had a girl come and look after the cats, just popping in, but one of them had the runs, so the whole house stinks. So I spent my time as soon as we got back. Scrubbing every floor and surface to within an inch of its life! I’ve unpacked all the food, although the milk was off by the time we got home. So has to nip to the coop and get more. Took OH’s wallet and got
some half price shampoo for OH, satsumas and bread.PayPal have taken £15 out of my account to pay a case that I had already refunded!!!!!!! No idea how to get that back or how soon! Now have £15 less for shopping! Not sure what I’m going to do now!! Have text eBay we but she’s drying all knowledge. Can’t really afford it, as was food shop money. Going to have to go tomorrow to get the £5 lidl app money off I think. Going to pare down the list more too.Right need to look at this and be clever about it. I’m nothing if not resourceful!
So I’ve got £12 left in bank.....
£14 in purse (Found £1 in the car)
£5 lidl app
£1.50 on Tesco card
£3.46 on sainsburys card(£11 on OH’s clubcard but that’s purely for cat food so won’t include in figures)
Oooh also £5 of old £1 coins I can change up.So £40.96
But £20 of that must be spent in Lidl to get the £5 off.
Right I’ve got this. Just need to plan.
Bit of tooing and froing but I have to go to Sainsbury’s next Tuesday anyway To pick up school uniforms. Will have to look online before though and see what’s cheap enough there, as I usually avoid as not the cheapest.
I got this!2 -
Ok back again.
I can get 2 x 6pts of milk and a tin of sweetcorn from sainsburys for £3.45. So that’s that accounted for!
Just working out the Lidl/Tesco bits!Really need to have a clear out of the freezer as it’s full and I’m not even sure what’s in it, but could really do with making some space. It’s only a super teeny tiny one!2 -
Oh crap @missymoo81 on the paypal and cats situ! same as you I've got allsorts of stuff in the freezer and no idea what is in there so September will be a low food spend month as I need to use up too.2025 financial goals & challenges!

Hey Clarissa, I’m scared to go in the freezer in case things fall out!Oh I’ve forgotten the £6 from prolific. That can be for the treats for the children. Have also found I don’t need shampoo as I have a new one so that’s £1.33 off the bill.2
