Anyone recommend a decent tyre inflator / air compressor? I had a cheap one off eBay years ago that vibrated itself to death.
I'm sick of using the one at ASDA as I don't think it's worked properly in a long time.
Tyres on my 2014 Focus are supposed to be 30psi. They were up at 35psi so used the ASDA one to set them back correctly to 30psi and now I get a warning on dash to check tyre pressures and it won't go away.

Scrapit said:Sounds like you need to reset your TPMS. But just get a 12v inflator from halfords.Could be, but I would also add never trust an inflator for the testing of pressure. Get a proper manual or electronic tester. They do not cost must and will help you see what is wrong. (though modern digital readouts on inflators do seems to be much better).Who knows how often ones at garages are calibrated? Do it at home.1

I set them at ASDA on Sunday night and the warning came up just after I had left the forecourt. Warning still on today and still same kind of temperature
I have a manual tyre pressure gauge somewhere I'll check with that.0 -
Been out and reset the TPMS and that cleared the warning. Still going to buy a tyre inflator though as my trust in the forecourt ones go down every time I use one.0

A footpump is the most straightforward answer. Haven't used anything else all my motoring life. Plus a manual gauge to check the pressure.0

You should reset it each time you top up the tyres.I use a stick gauge which I have had since about 1972, had it checked a couple of years ago and it was spot on.

Far quicker because it's more air per stroke, far easier because it uses a much wider and more powerful set of muscles.

Yes get a decent foot pump.
If you like a project, see if you can get an early Kismet foot pump and restore it, they were made back when motoring was a luxury and engineering took priority over price, they're probably the best quality foot pump you can buy, far better than anything made today. I think mine is about 70+ years old and still going strong.
