    Your house almost sounds American, Seperate heated cylinder and warm air, except the water would be straight off the mains, not from a store in the loft.

    I haven't had time to compare costs of gas kettle vs a modern hidden element kettle. Did find a kettle in Asda at £11.99 for a plastic bodied one and £16 for a metal one (Normende make, own brand, marketeers decided that "french" sell kitchen stuff :rolleyes: ) .Though no doubt I will be gazumped quickly here on cost
