  • Thanks very much. What a nice place this is! I am strangely nervous, despite having experience in subterfuge, observations and report writing.
Our digi camera is one of those teeny weeny cheapo ones that is really quite rubbish. We are a bit slow to catch up with techno stuff in this house. Anyway, I will keep reading and researching and see you soon. Cheers.
  • I missed the GR jobs too, I logged in as soon as I got the email last time and they were all gone in my area and yesterday I logged in over an hour after I got the email and they had all gone in my area, they only have a few, shame cos I enjoyed the last GR one I did, but I have a feeling i won't be doing very many as they obviously have someone in my area who is always checking!

  • I keep missing GR jobs too. Most frustrating, as I am out in the sticks, so not much choice here.
With regards to being alone on assignments... I know the food ones are solo but what about say petrol or phone ones? It doesn't seem to say on the basic details. I may sometimes need to do them with a toddler in pushchair. If that is not allowed at all, I can only do weekends and a few late evenings. Arghhh. Still I suppose I can start slow and build up and be an "expert" by the time I get more time.
    What do you think?

Unless the job specifically says "no children", you can take children with you.

Use common sense though, and don't go just before dinner time or nap time or any other time when the little one is likely to be fidgity! It's not fair on the assistant if they are dealing with someone who's little one is playing up, and it's harder for you to observe what you're supposed to doing!

For reciepts, I use a camera and take a photo. The flash sometimes bounces off the paper, so I put the reciept under my desk lamp. I then take a pic with no flash on the macro setting and it works fine.
Here I go again on my own....

DOES ANYONE KNOW OF MYSTERY SHOPPING
TRIPS IN SURREY AND LNDON PLEASE:j.
I have first learned about mystery shopping from ciao reviews. I read so many pages and everytime I got to the end, the reviewer will either give a name of just one company or say that they can't reveal the names!!
I thought it was all top secret, and so was determined to find out more.

So when I first found this forum and I found this list:

Courtesy of Becles, I thought Wow! what a generous sharing person who took time and effort to help others. I like that kind of spirit. There is a more summarised list by Timmne here:

Of course since then I found this list:

Most Uk based companies have work in London, some are not recruiting there anymore but I am sure you'll find plenty that are.
    Welcome to MSing.
  • Hiya, which companies do off licenses?

    Retail Eyes.

There are some on there now. I've just picked up 2 near me. Just in time for Valentines Day :T :T :T

  • Coming in late to help Seasprite, but I've been with Gap since last June and dont have a fax or scanner.

I just take a photo with my camera phone - its nothing fancy and the quality isnt that great - and then upload them at the end of the questionnaire. They've never complained so if you've got even a cheap digi camera, don't worry!! :j

Welcome to the wonderful world of Mystery shopping!

Brilliant....But I thought with Gap (it was a phone shop job) you had to print the results form, complete by hand and return to them. Do you mean you take pics of receipts/hand outs and the long form all with dig camera? If so I will have a practise with mine! And probably read the small print without small people interrupting me!
  • you fill the reports for Gap in online and then upload your picture at the end

Cac! I have just realised. Cancelled 2 jobs for nothing then. Oh well, it is a good lesson; read the details properly, do not rush, concentrate and stop multi tasking...oops toast is burning now.. Thanks everyone...
