Has anyone done a mystery shop for a fitted Kitchen? I have one to do and just wondered if it is a difficult one or straight forward. The assignment looks extremely long!!
Many thanks0 -
I haven't done a mystery shop for a fitted kitchen, but I have had a genuine one done and yes, it took ages! Mainly because the guy had us walking around looking at taps, worktops etc.
I do have a really dumb question if anyone can answer. If you do a mystery shop opening a current account, what happens to that account? Are you allowed to keep it and use it? I know the answer is probably obvious but I didn't know if the bank get told who you are and why you opened it and then closed it or something.0 -

BARE have a useless search facility I just look at the whole country and scan through. They are roughly in alphabetical order by location. I can currently see quite a few in Devon at the moment, Exeter, Sidmouth, Teignmouth etc - Not going to show up poor geography by going on further...0 -

I did an account opening shop which was a bargain as I really did need a new account so got paid for itYou can usually keep it open unless it states otherwise. I also had a courtesy service call from the bank asking me if I was happy with service which I thought was quite amusing

Hi I recently did a fitted kitchen one - it was not too bad at all and I was looking forward to it. However the staff at this store were not as keen as me and I had to practially hunt someone down and they just did the very basics. This from a store trying to change their image ( new tv ad!!)
Hope that helps0 -

Someone a couple of weeks ago on this thread was treated appallingly on one of these jobs and told to only come back with her husband as she couldn't make the decision on her own  Makes me mad thinking about it the tw*t! (insert your choice of vowel!!) and it wasn't even me doing the shop!0 -
id rip them to pieces, if someone treated me really badly. Id pick on every small detail and write it in my report. This is why we do mystery shops - get rid of all the twa**s0

Thanks for your views guys!
I would rip the person to pieces too, how dare they treat someone like that. This is the whole point of mystery shoppers, and I would make sure I put every detail down! However, since I think it will be a long winded job (not the 15/30 minutes stated) I shall decline this one until I am a little more experienced on jobs.
I have one coming up soon which is for a well known Computer Retailer, which I am really looking forwards to. Straight forward!!0 -

I am slightly confused though - does that mean you can be both employed and self employed? I signed up with a Mystery Shopping Agency about a year ago and never heard anything, so do I still have to tell them or not because I assume I won't hear from them now? Also, just so I can get it straight in my head, you don't get taxed on mileage/subsistence? It does seem like a lot hassle for doing something you might only get £10 from before you are taxed. Is it really worth it?
You certainly don't have to register as self-employed until you actually work as a self employed person!
You get paid a sum which includes any expenses you have to pay out. (Some companies reimburse what they ask you to spend separately, and some do not). You need to keep a record of what it actually costs you, in mileage, printing, subsistance etc. No, it's not worth doing for a tenner! - although lots of tenners do add up....eventually......:oEx board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0
