Thanks for the replies re: TNS, I was worried because last time I got paid the same month, did the job on the 6th and was paid on the 28th. I feel much better now I know I haven't just slipped up somewhere!

I find googling your favourite store with "mystery shopper" at the end tends to work - this is what I've always done (and why there isn't a coffee company I don't shop!)
ah i got it but not recruiting in my area.

If anyone lives in Kent, Northampton, or Southampton, and is free for an hour and a half on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (in the same order I wrote the places) and is aged 16-24 there is some soft drinks research paying £50.
You have to have bought drinks from a corner shop I think isthe criteria. If anyone wants the info pm me as I can't remember where I put it.
Someone already posted this but it's disappeared, they still need people!!

I have tried to email to ask, but have had no reply and I really do not want to phone as I am useless when it comes to asking for money!
Does anyone know if this means something is wrong, or should I just be more patient?

    hello go.on.smile,

actually I have another reply for you - lots of people are useless at asking for money, so I do understand, but you have to tell yourself that you are as worth being paid as the next person. It's really worth training yourself to believe this because it's fundamental if you want to bring in self employed income. Hope you don't mind this post - I work in training and motivation so couldn't resist!:o

Goodness gracious. Retail Eyes are phoning me now to check that I'm going to do an assignment... and I've never let them down before. A thoroughly bizarre conversation indeed:

    RE: Hello, is that Hazza?
    ME: Yes, can I help?
RE: You accepted a job yesterday for <a company> and I just wanted to check that you were going to do it.
ME: I set a date to do the assignment didn't I? Tomorrow I believe.
RE: Yes - tomorrow; that's the only date it will allow you to set.
    ME: So what's the problem?
RE: None, I just wanted to check you're doing the job tomorrow.
ME: There's no need, I've accepted the job, set the date for tomorrow, and tomorrow is the day I've agreed to do the job.
    RE: Er, ok.... thanks.
    ME: You're welcome, goodbye.

    What's all that about?!?!

  • I got an equally bizarre email and had to check I hadn't missed it.

Worryingly, I found this on yahoo answers (as the best answer).

Hollypear - how did the first day at your new job go? Good I hope!

Thanks SJ I am shattered. That's my training done now. We got bombarded 10 am to 4pm till today with loads of stuff about health & safety, profit management, Asda policy, trading law, etc etc

You will all love this one. We got one of those big laminates of the inside of an Asda store and we had to identify list of things in it. Like shoplifters(potentially) 2 colleagues chatting and a customer struggling with 2 laden baskets, some bloke in the warehouse without his hi vis jacket on. Then there is a shady looking spiv with lether buckled coat and sun glasses. So who is he I asked "Oh" they said "that is the mystery shopper"

Started on the checkout this afternoon on a busy Friday...Whew I am knackered and brain dead. Not as easy as it looks as all the veg salad stuff and fruit all have a code, then you have the challenge 24 for booze, codes for mobie top ups, and you have to check clothes etc for contraband things stuck down jeans!!! expensive gift cards hidden in newspapers, and vagabonds switching cheap booze out the box and replacing it with expensive booze.

All this concentrating and I have to smile, chat etc in case a MS'er comes in and Asda get 1 every 2 weeks. If I get one with 100% though I get taken out for lunch at a local pricey restaurant.

Our store though is making a good profit and I get a bonus from that at the end of the year and after 3 months get a 10% discount on purchases.

    Cheers everyone.
