Was sure that there would be a load of jobs going onto Gap today, but there wasn't much at all other than the fuel outlets and none near me...

...I think what might have killed it is Retail Eyes' RIDICULOUS drop in fees for certain restaurant chain shops by 30% and them expecting us to just accept it. What's more annoying is that people ARE accepting the jobs still which means 12 months down the line RE will have managed to scrap the fee all together and pay only a reimbursement, which is something GAP have managed to do already with some jobs.

I totally agree. I wish people would say more to the companies, in some vain hope they may stop reducing fees. If I get phoned up being asked to do these no fee jobs I tell them I will do the job on the condition I'm paid a decent & worthwhile fee for my time and the report I'll be producing for them.
It takes the mickey out of the job that they expect our services for nothing so often, especially given the fees they receive from clients (far far greater than any measly amount they may pay when they do deign to pay a fee), and also, as chocolatebuttons said, they expect us to be totally faultless when they are often fallible.

    (rant over)

Yes, I agree - what about the spelling of the place names on Gap?!? It's a wonder we find any of the jobs to start with!!

I have a query re RE. I'm new to mystery shopping and completed my first assingment for an eye test. I sent my questionnaire in in good time and got paid ok...but havent been scored. My account is still showing as probationary.

I have given them a couple of months but nothing so i rang today and the lady said there was a problem with this company and they have decided not to score them (for everyone she implied). I queried this as it meant that I would not be able to complete multiple jobs if and when, but she said that I would just have to wait until my next job. Eventually she conceded to remove the probationary status but my score remains at 1 point (for an online survey).

Do the points matter/have any bearing?

I am annoyed that I checked and double checked that I had got everything 100% right so as not to be penalised, all in vain!!

I think a load went on yesterday afternoon as in the evening when I did a search by client name there were petrol places, grocery stores, toy shops and mobile phone stores in other areas that I hadn't seen before. Sods law my daughter was using my PC all afternoon and I missed them

I had this problem as well however they did add the points manually for me after I'd emailed them a couple of times. They are worth having because if you have to cancel assignments for any reason they deduct points (so it can take you back to probationary status if you lose enough points). Apart from that I'm not sure what value they have.

I got shirty with them once when they deducted points for not completing an assignment on time, but I COULDN'T do the assignment until they'd made an audio recording of the phone call available to me and that wasn't available until after the due date   They basically said not to worry as the points thing were a trial anyway and didn't really have much meaning

  • i have just been accepted by Gap and looking around their assignments.

For the pizza hut ones (i have done the orientation bit) the pay is eithr £12 or £19.

Is this on top of what you order - ie you submit a receipt for you food and a payment of £19, or including your order- which will come to nearly that anyway!

I cant believe the pay is £19 as i have done some Grassroots work and i know pay isnt that high, but just need confirmation really.

    many thanks
