Maximising income - Mystery Shopping? Surveys? (Part Three)

I had an assignment at a drinking establishment yesterday for RE. I found a hair in my food  I had to put that in the report, obviously - hope they don't contest it because its a bad review!!
The other assignment I had for saturday didn't go to plan as the place I went to wasn't serving any food at all. Hope they both work out now!
I did a shop for an RE sandwich shop and found a hair on the top of the bread! Yuk! They didn't come back to me about that one so fingers crossed you'll be ok too!0 -
Oh diddums did someone steal your dolly out of your pram. Lighten up. It's only a bit of fun.Otherwise the site would be all gloom and doom.
No need to be rude Hollypear. My dolly is very happy in her pram, thank you.
For many people mystery shopping is their full time job & their sole income. Whilst it may be a bit of fun to you, it's hardly a 'bit of fun' to people who rely on it to live!
Many people moan when fees are cut & expenses disappear but all this naming of clients (even if it is with silly, obvious clues) and fees makes it easy for the cheaper companies to undercut the existing company and take their clients.
Think about it. It's not rocket science. It's just a bit of fun. :rolleyes:0 -

I had a pub assignment on saturday that they rang and asked me to do - begged! turned up and the pub doesnt serve food on a saturday evening. never has!Still, the payment and expenses seem to have gone through ok - I just had extra drinks  (was really hungry though!)

I didn't say MS per se was fun. It has been my only source of income for 6 months and I take it very seriously. The posters weren't linking clients to companies. Any references to fees are usually a company I refuse to work for as skint as I am I ain't buying a rubbish burger where you are asked for a receipt giving yourself away for a fee which barely covers the petrol.
So let's agree we misunderstood each other.
Anyway everyone I have just got a job in Asda. I can name them as I am not MS'ing thembut I am going to treat every customer at my checkout as if they are a MS'er so I don't get caught out. It's only part time and minimum wage so I will still be doing my MS'ing.
I know the company who does their MS for them but can't obviously name them but I have informed them I can't MS Asda now. At my interview they thought it a plus point I was a MS'er so would know how important good customer skills are and if you get a realy good review the manager takes you to lunch at a top Bearsden hotel. It will be so handy as it is only a mile away and exactly opposite one of the posters on here.:rotfl:Clique member no 1.:D0 -
Holly - have you managed to live off just MSing for 6 months then? I am trying for a baby at the moment and so will obviously be taking time off work (as much as possible actually!) but I will only be paid for 6 months, and was wondering if I could manage to earn enough MSing after that time passes. What do you think?
Oh, yeah and congrats on the new job!! :beer:0 -

Sarah funny it is only now I am clued up enough that I am making good money. In fees alone for the next 3 days I am getting around £200. That is for various companies.I am off out on 3 of them now but I will PM you when I get back and tell you the ones I work for to make sure you are getting as much as me.
The mistake I made was being a feartie. I just joined 2 at first. Then another then a few months ago thought "What the heck and joined a few more" One of them is difficult to get into but I can help you but only by PM. Meanwhile can you PM me and tell me where you live.
I will help you all I can as I am so grateful for the help and advice I got on here. The support is tremendous as it can be a very lonely occupation.
Good luck with the baby making. At least have fun in the trying.:rotfl:Clique member no 1.:D0 -

Sorry for butting in. But, the only job I do is ms-ing as I gave up 'real' work after I had my first (i have a 3 year old and 11 month old), and to be honest in some ways ms-ing would be more fruitful when the little ones are at school as quite often I have to turn work down as you can't take kiddies with you, though sometimes I do beg family members to pop round to watch them for 30 mins. I couldn't live on what I make (lucky enough there is OH's wage for that), but the ms-ing gives me a personal income for myself - for clothes, all things girlies want etc. But, to be honest its not comparable to the amount of money I used to earn, but it is flexible - which I love. I can choose when to work and what jobs - and as a Mum thats perfect. So, if you really need to make the sort of money you earn in your full time job - I don't think with a baby you'd make anywhere near it - but if you could live on less then its a fantastic way of working while being at home with the new baby.

I do sympathise cookingmummy. I wish I had a pound for the times I have seen DO NOT TAKE CHILDREN with you. I don't have children just 2 dogs!!! but I think for a lot of shops that is a bit unfair. It is as if they think if you have taken the children your brain won't function.Clique member no 1.:D0
