Ok so the call of £50 was too strong - you also get free annual European travel insurance with it which is worth probably another £50 a year. I have applied for an A&L account.

I'm sure I'll manage to put enough money through it if I put my mind to it. To be honest I really dislike the Halifax and would be glad to close their account.

Tee hee. Hope you get the cashback!!!

And actually, if you don't put £500 through it - say you've only got £300 - they're not gonna close it, are they! I still might do it ....

Yes I did consider that, but I have to purchase an A4 jiffy bag and send it somewhere by special delivery so I don't want to be out of pocket if they refuse to pay. 4 jobs = over £20 in costs to lose if they get pedantic about it:confused:

Did a Stamp Shop yesterday (Credit Card enquiry) and had to pay for my purchase with a Debit Card. Have one today where I have to send the A4 jiffy bag off by special delivery, again paying by Debit Card. You have to put the last 4 digits of your card on the report (it shows up on your receipt). Luckily I have a Lloyds TSB one.
Don't know what to buy today as my "purchase" - the stamps are mounting up!
Shame we can't buy Top-Ups for Mobiles as that would have been handy for me.
    ;)

Do you need to apply for tax if you are in full time education?

Guys think twice about A&L; they're so pants it hurts!

Their internet banking leaves a lot to be desired and they're not a clearing bank so everything seems to take longer for them to do.

Try going with First Direct - you get £100 if you move your main current account to them too. Sounds like a hassle but they're so brilliant I couldn't recommend them more highly (nor could 95% or something of their customers!)
  • FD are really good, Im currently grinding my od down with them so I can re-open my account with them as soon as it's cleared.

MS wise I use halifax and they are ok I guess, a few charging issues, which reminds me, Ill send out a claim letter to them for some charges back.

MS wise, got a couple today.

How does everyone run their filing systems for completed paperwork?

I have a A4 folder (folds over etc) for each month of completed paperwork, and a blue foolscap style folder for jobs outstanding, I always aim to have at least one job in there so I know I have some income coming in and shops to do!

Yep - I have a lever arch file, divided by ms company, expenses and receipts. I have foolscap folder which I keep the 'gumf' you pick up on these visits, and another one with jobs to do. I also use one of these to take with me when merchandising and auditing (looking posh :rotfl:).

Already beginning to collect a rainforests worth!

hi, Im fairly new to this. enjoying it so far though!
I'm trying to catch up with the forum - Im on page 96 at the mo so creeping up behind you all.

Im doing a stamp shop today and have to buy something. Does anyone know if I can buy my road tax and that count? (I know I would just get the £5 back on it but thought it would be worth a shot rather than lots of stamps!)

I have one of these booked in for next week and as far as I can see from my paperwork, the only thing you can't buy is saving stamps, so I would guess at yes, but don't quote me on it cos it is just a guess. I was planning on buying £10 worth of euros as I'm off to Dublin in a couple of weeks as this was suggested earlier on in this forum. You could always email them and ask :rotfl: ;)

They dont have shop visits like most other mystery shop companies. The're main type of mystery shopping is making telephone calls to customers. Go to their website and select start new survey which will show you the companies available for telephone surveys.

I'm sorry but you are talking absolute nonsense:eek: I have been with OC for 3 years now and get many shops (mostly upmarket) and banks with them as well as phone calls.

With regards to the person who asked, they do take a while to get going with you. When I first started there was 6 months between assigments and then 3 and now I average about 5 assignments a month with them. If you want to do the survey work (phoning customers to ask about service) then you have to register seperately with them via email. The survey work isn't compulsory and doesn't affect you getting offered work. Stick with them as they are by far my best paying company and if you do the work promptly and correctly they reward you with regular work. :)
