In which case I could have faked this?

Well you do seem naive to be embarking on this new self employed role.

The taxman, and everyone down is well aware that a receipt is not a receipt if it is handwritten on a plain bit of paper!

No, because it would still be on an official printed pad of receipts that would have the golden arches name on.

That explains that, just wondered if they used a scrap of paper or something, in which case it wouldn't look very 'valid'!

..... i got pestered to finish i pointed out that the brief said DO not return the same day,
do they read the paper work ??
    No! :rotfl:
Speaking generally, it's often the case that they expect you to do everything 100% accurately and know and remember ever minute detail, and then give you hassle if you're not perfect, but they are quite free to make errors and be ignorant to certain specifics.

thanks for the info...its just that you dont want to spend 20£ for food (which you dont like) and then not get paid..:-) Cud you also tell the questionnaire/result sheet is it too comprehensive or is it easy (i am still waiting for the brief to come through)
There is no fee for that job, so if you don't like the food it's not going much fun for you, don't you think?

Incidentally, I recently did a pub meal shop with RE which stated 'You do not need to get a receipt'. Obviously, I double checked with them and I did need to get one. 'Oh I see,' I said, 'There is a mistake on the assignment notes.' (Not wishing to labour the point too much.)

So if RE ever state you don't need a receipt for a meal shop, double check. Those notes may still be doing the rounds...
