Hi,

We are looking for shoppers aged between 18 and 21 years old who look younger than 21 for Newsagent/Off-Licence visits on behalf of JKS Mystery Shopping. You need to be in possession of, and take to the store with you, 1 of the following forms of ID:

1) Citizen card
2) Passport
3) Driving licence with photo

The aim of the survey is to check that retailers are asking for ID from customers who look to be under the age of 21 and are buying tobacco, and also assess customer service.

There is a mystery shopper fee plus reimbursement for the product purchased. You must buy tobacco goods only.

There is a simple online questionnaire to fill in within 24 hours of the visit, and all visits must take place between now and 25th April.

The following locations are available:

Forest Hall NE12
Ponteland NE20
Wallsend (Battlehill) NE28
Wallsend (Windsor) NE28
South Shields (Whiteleas) NE34
Northumberland NE42

Shoppers are more than welcome to visit more than one store.

You must be aged between 18 and 21 years of age (and not look older) or you can nominate a friend, relative etc who falls within the required age range, as long as you can 'mentor' them! Tobacco goods only to be purchased.

For these locations, please email louise@mysteryoutsource.co.uk for details.

Thanks guys! :cheesy:

There's a couple of jobs on RE at the moment for an electrical goods retailer. It looks like a reveal shop, where after they've rung everything up in the till, you tell them who you are and don't pay for it.

Has anyone done any of these before? What kind of response did you get from the shop assistants after they've gone through the whole selling process, thought you were going to buy it and 95% completed the transaction?

The ones on there are a bit too far away for me to make it worthwhile, but not sure if one came up nearby I'd feel too awkward to do it!

I've done a few reveals! It is awkward at first, but you get used to it and it doesn't bother me at all now. All the staff I have dealt with have been nice. Some have been surprised, others have laughed about it, but nobody has been horrid.

does anyone know if i do 3 assignments on the same day with ims will i get paid the travel allowance 3 times? i believe you dont claim it it is part of the payment

Yes - you will get 3 lots of travel allowance. The allowance will be put on automatically once the job is checked and it's passed for payment.

If you can get lots of jobs close together on the same day, it can work out quite lucrative. The downside is, sometimes it's not enough for odd jobs some distance away and with parking charges. You have to learn to pick well!
Here I go again on my own....

just signed up to a few ms sites, re have some bookies jobs near me, anyone who has done these before got any advice? Would have thought hanging around for a £2 bet would make you obvious as a ms. Also can you bet on anything? cant see any specific things you must bet on.

any help on here or by pm greatly apprerciated.

I was wondering if anyone else has had any problems getting paid for assignments done for Frontline Focus, or if anyone has done work for them with no problems?

Hi,

I have done 5 jobs for them since I signed up about a year ago and have always been paid no problem. I normally get cheques through the post within about a month of doing the job (I never registered for BACS payment) and the one time it did go a bit wrong it was good old Royal Mail's fault not FF's. Hope you get it sorted soon, nothing worse than being out of pocket.

Hi Richard,

I'm not allowed to do these cos I'm a girl  but I used to work in a bookies and can tell you that some people stay in there all day so you won't necessarily draw attention to yourself by hanging around. Hopefully someone will be along soon who can help you with what to bet on. Good luck!

I've never done an RE bookies job myself, but have just had a look at the assignment notes. It doesn't seem to specify a sport to bet on, but if you look at the product questions, that might help you decide. ;)

I'm doing an eat-in pizza job tonight for gap, which says I should order 2 refill drinks. As I'm dining alone (sob), can I order a coke to begin with, then a lemonade when my main course arrives?

TIA

Hi Richard,
You can bet on anything you want as long as it is for at least £2 or adds up to £2 (i.e. two £1 bets)

The best way to drag it out is to have a good look round first pretend to read all the boards then sit and watch some of the screens, make your observations and all that. Then go and place your bet...check toilets...then go back to ask question. It's usually fairly easy to fill 30 minutes if you check each thing and make a note of the answer.

Hi Everyone,

Ive just been accepted by TNS and have had an e-mail from them telling me that my welcome pack will be sent out shortly.
Would anyone be kind enough to PM me and tell me who TNS do Mystery Shops for and what their fees are like?

TIA

J x
• I'm sure it's not my imagination but the fee for underground sandwich shops seems to have gone back up again

Maybe they read this board after all lol ;)
