  • I've managed to get an upmarket gym job on RE. If anyone has done one of these and would mind answering a couple of questions could they pm me please?

I'm so excited because I'd love to return to the gym again and have some time on my hands over the next few months but I know this passion always dies after a few months and with the kids breaking up for the summer in July and holiday etc I know i'd miss about 3 months and then struggle to return in Sept. This is ideal.
Keeper of 2 children, 2 dogs, 2 cats & thankful that you can only have 1 husband at a time.
  • I have had a call from an MSco asking if I would visit some garages to obtain best prices, what I was wondering is - how do you get a final quote for a non-cash price without being credit checked? I assume that if you tell the SA you want to buy a car, s/he will want your details before offering you any payment plans. If it were just cash prices this would be easy, has anybody done one of these...
Thanks for any advice, I am quite new to MS with only a few under my belt so far and am a bit panicky each time!
Smile ! And pass it on..

I applied for TNS and got accepted first time yet someone else I know it took 3 attempts! I think you just need to bear in mind what they are looking for when answering the questions. Also be extra careful with spelling and grammar when answering as they want the reports to be spot on so the questionnaire is a good gauge of your English. I won't pretend to be an expert though - only been doing it for less than a month and got my 4th job coming up - just what I've gathered from reading other peoples posts.

I still keep getting mega nervous when it comes to doing the jobs. Ridiculous really considering when I am "normal" shopping I do not worry at all - I feel like I have a sign on my forehead - even before asking for a receipt! I'm sure it will become second nature soon though.

I am going to start wading through the GAP specific tests and start booking jobs for them soon. Only done TNS and Bare so far.
when i did tns application i tried to use my own words rather than quote from the hand book is it best to copy wjhat they say i suppose it depends if they have much work in your are too

No you don't go as far as talking payment plans and they don't do credit checks unless you decide that you want to actually buy the car (I have just done the same shops)

Jobbingmusician, thanks for that. I did think that was the case but really appreciate the clarification. I had someone phone me recently regarding a customer service satisfaction survey for my bank (I was expecting the call so knew it wasn't a scam lol). I was happy to do the survey but i'll bet i'm in the minority !

I'm still looking into it at the moment and wondering what's the best way to enter the information whilst calling (write it or get a hands free speaker phone and type the info as the call is being made). Still trying to suss it all out so any hints/tips would be very welcome :D .

I haven't done these surveys for a few weeks. But most of the questions are tick box - enter them straight into the computer screen. Where you want to make comments (and IIRC most of the comments were things I wanted to clarify, except for the last 2 questions on the survey I did, which were more freeform) I just took notes direct on to the computer, repeating to the customer exactly what I was writing, and then I told the customer I would write it up more fully afterwards.

You do need to make notes (of different phone numbers, if the person they tell you to speak to isn't the best person) but the surveys are entered as you go. And all my surveys passed quality control except for one where I knew I wasn't talking to the right person, and put this on the survey and said I didn't expect to be paid!!!!

mumofjusttwo, the assignment has already been marked. I got 4 points taken off for a late submission, but I couldn't submit because THEIR website was down. I did ring and they said that I wouldn't be marked down and they'd made a note but hey presto, when I logged on, i'd been marked down ! grrrrr......

jtb2412 did they email you to let you know that it had been assessed? I'm still waiting for mine to come back too

    thanks!

Have earned £49.70p doing MS surveys today plus another £27 doing three quick audits. The surveys took around 8 hours but the audits took just two hours (including travel and report submission).

Have three cinema visits this weekend, so I expect to earn £250+ this week.

Is anyone else having or had any problems with MyTNS/My Surveys? I never get any of the points promised for the surveys and I am clueless as to what is going on. I know some take months to credit accounts but this is ridiculous!

Paul, how do you manage to get all those jobs, you lucky so and so?

Well, last week I had no MS jobs outside my house - it was all telephone survey work; that is my guaranteed income (I hope).

I work for six MS companies: Assosia, Bare International, GAPBuster, Grass Roots, Optimum Contact and Retail Eyes - the only order here is alphabetical!

I do very little work for the lower-paying companies; I only work for them if I have another higher-paid job already booked on the same day. There is little incentive to leave my house if I can earn money doing telephone surveys!

I was lucky tonight - I got the offer of 11 jobs at £9 a job (all could easily be done in a day). I got in quick but, unfortunately, they decided they only need four jobs doing (rather than 11) and I managed to bag three of them! I will also get first refusal on the other seven (if they need to be done).

The only big city near me is Hull but a lot of my jobs are in smallish towns - which may be 20-30 miles away but I get paid £30-£50 for each one. This may involve an interview in a bank which can last 90+ minutes though!

The work is there, just ignore those low-paying companies who want you to eat fast food every week! Very few of my jobs have any 'perks' - just a reasonable rate of pay (if you can call something that approximates to minimum wage 'reasonable' that is). I am just able to keep busy most of the time.

Would you believe that before I started working as a self-employed mystery shopper (less than 4 months ago) I was unemployed for 12 years? I am aged 57 and disabled too!

I have this site to thank for finding out about all the mystery shopping companies, how to save money on phone calls and also the government for the Tax Credit system. Without Tax Credits I would not have had the confidence to take the 'plunge'! So, thank you MARTIN LEWIS and TONY BLAIR!

EDIT: Pardon me, it is MARTIN O'LEWIS today (St. Patricks Day)
