Maximising income - Mystery Shopping? Surveys? (Part Three)

Hi,
I signed up with TNS a week or 2 ago and have been waiting for some localish jobs to come up on the search- so far there's been none (between now and April!) within a 40 minute drive from me.
I got an email tonight saying there were three urgent jobs- all over an hour away! They were all quite small (2 cafes and one chemist).
Am I being too picky? From what I read on here, I thought the jobs would fit in around normal day to day life- not usually needing a huge journey? I'm not living in the sticks here- 10 mins from a large town, about 20 mins from Manchester!
Thanks for any tips!
Hmm are you local to me, someone keeps getting the jobs on GR and I never get a look in! Is it you I wonder???Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 102

GR...grrrr more like. I have done 1 job for them and apparantly turned down 5. However they have only contacted me once. My email and phone are in order so they just don't seem to bother. I also check their website at least 3x a day! They must have their favorites.0

From the other side, I love you mystery shoppers. Everytime I get the mystery shopper come to me at work I get a £10 voucher. My colleagues think I am paying you lot. lolAnyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

GR's jobs go VERY quickly. You literally have to be on the site the minute they are posted otherwise others grab them. I dont think they phone people about jobs and the emails seem to come out about an hour after the jobs by which time they're gone. Check the site 3 times a day? You need to check it 333 times to get anything :rotfl:We’ve had to remove your signature. I agree GR jobs just go, I've not ever been lucky and they do ones so close to where I live, I check many times a day. But have got plenty to keep me busy at the mo.
I would like to do more GR jobs but guess it is being in the right place at the right time. Do they load jobs during working hours only?Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 102

I don't believe what I have seen.
Someone is selling on ebay the information on how to eat mcdonalds and pizza hut free, and another how to get free items from PC world, Staples, etc - basically selling how to sign up to a mystery shopping company!
Can you beleieve the cheek of some people?Keeper of 2 children, 2 dogs, 2 cats & thankful that you can only have 1 husband at a time.0 -
Quite funny really.... I have no idea how these people manage to retain any positive feedback!
Also, calling these meals 'free' really bugs me when they're clearly not!0 -
Well clearly not free, I mean it's not like they can walk into any Mcdonalds for a free meal.
What pee'vs me more is the fact that they are selling information that is totally free. I'm sure the mystery shopping company in question would not be happy to know that one of their shoppers or ex shoppers is selling this information.Keeper of 2 children, 2 dogs, 2 cats & thankful that you can only have 1 husband at a time.0 -
If it's the company who do the clients you're talking about, they would be happy for this information to be shared!
They're not interested in getting quality reports or having reliable shoppers, they just want any reports from anyone, just so they meet their targets!0 -
