Maximising income - Mystery Shopping? Surveys? (Part Three)

The worst video shop I did was a purchase and return visit. I'd taped the purchase bit, thought I'd turned the camera off, then used a public toilet. I was horrified when I checked the tape at home, and realised I'd filmed the toilet door and noises of me having a wee  Luckily I was able to rewind the tape and tape over it for my return visit, so the company never knew!
Sorry Becles but ... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

The video machine arrived about half an hour before I had to leave for the shop, so I didn't exactly get much chance to practice. The brief was very stern, saying that the company would not pay me if I didn't get the face in the frame for at least 75% of the time.
Would anybody be able to PM the companies that do covert video? I have been a MS for a while with the major companies but have never been offered any video ones, do you have to meet a particular profile?

Hurray!
Feeling proud of myself today!
Had a good look at the "up your income" posts and decided to apply to TNS. Did the test yesterday, nearly lost the will to live! completed test and today got an email saying I'm in!
Ok, so now I've got some questions and would be grateful for any help - how much do they pay?
What sort of work will I initially be offered?
If I was sent to a restaurant for example, do I always have to go alone or will they pay for hubby to come?
Any info anyone could give me would be very welcome. I didn't consider being accepted as i've read loads of posts saying poster didn't get in, I guess they need people in my area.
Is it just TNS you have signed up for? TNS are one of the better ones out there, but sign up for a few.
Also try and do at least 1 job for each MS Company as soon as you can, even if it means not making any money on the job. As soon as you are 'active', you will start getting phone calls and can potentially get better jobs, and often slightly higher fees.
I used to do 6-7 Mystery Shops a month but I rarely do them now - the fees have gone down so much its frankly not worth my while a lot of the time. I did do a restaurant the other day though. There was no fee, but it was just me and the kids so it was a nice treat for them.0 -

I've done it for 4 different companies. With two of them, I had been a normal shopper for a long time and proved I was reliable, and they offered me the work. The other two companies, I was recommended to by existing shoppers who knew me well. The kit is very expensive, so companies prefer giving it to people they know are trustworthy and reliable, rather than just someone off the street who they don't know.
I have been offered work from other companies too, but they expect you to buy your own kit which I've never been willing to do.
Just keep your eyes and ears open, and when they need someone and you fit the bill, they'll let you knowHere I go again on my own....0 -
Can anyone help me with a link for TNS? I've got a new computer today and when I've tried www.apps.tns-global.com/apps/mercury it's saying it can't find it. I've also tried www.tns-global.com which has come up but I'm not sure which part I need.0

Reminds me of the time I left the webcam running, forgot about it, and started getting ready to go to bed. Fortunately, one of my MSN friends warned me before I actually stripped offEx board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
I referred my OH up to RE, he's just signed up and he gets betting shop jobs! I can't believe how sexist that is! He's chuffed anyway because he accepted one job and it had another one with it so he gets two jobs at two different betting shops. Think happy & you'll be happy
I :heart2: my doggies

Thanks for your reply. Yes I've just signed up for TNS. Thought I'd see how it goes, I might not like it. Also have another job so can't work that often.
My kids would love the visiting restaurants so I'd be happy to take them along when I could.0
