Refund for puppy deposit?

Why are people still buying pets this way!
I would never dream of spending that amount of money on a puppy where I haven't been able to visit the breeder and see how the puppy is being reared. If you can't physically visit then at least have access to video streams showing the puppy with it's mum etc.5 -
I have already acknowledged that it was foolish so this really isn't helpfulneilmcl said:Why are people still buying pets this way!

Ok. I wouldn't say it was normal to expect that a deposit is refundable if you change your mind, otherwise what would be the point of it?Indidoodaah said:
I didn't there was no communication regarding the terms of the deposit, all that was mentioned was '£250 deposit secures'davidmcn said:
Did you tell them you expected it to be refundable?Indidoodaah said:On the advert there was no mention of the deposit being non-refundable

Considering it's only 5 weeks until collection I don't think a weekly update is unreasonableunforeseen said:It's only been a week !!!!!!! What did you think regular updates meant? Daily?0 -
This whole thing sounds like a recipe for disaster. What decent breeder sells a dog to someone without seeing them....They have a Facebook business page? Do they have a limited company name, or are they registered as a dog breeder with their local council?Have you then presumably not seen the mother and pup together?Indidoodaah said:

It was from Pets4Homes website. The Pets4Homes site says -"Safety Notice from Pets4Homes - NEVER send money for a deposit or pay for a pet online. ALWAYS visit the advertisers home to view the pet and confirm they are genuine. Before contacting the seller, you MUST read our Pet Buying/Adoption Checklist below.5 -
