Hopeless_Case said:Can I join for £240 please - I've not done this challenge for a couple of years, plus as we're not going out now, our 'entertainment' budget has sort of merged with our food budget (with Tesco the clear winner, now taking most of our money!!
) , so I need to get control back over it
I'll go from 28 May as that's payday - thanks
Also please can someone tell me how to subscribe to this thread, the forum has had a facelift since I was last on here! Thanks
Edit: I think I've found it, do we just click 'bookmark'? If so, the facelift has made it much simpler 👍👍8 -

Hello
I would like to join, could you put me down for £100 please. Just me and the cat but it has been quite difficult to set a budget, I've started adding in household, toiletries and cat food. Think the lockdown has really made me think about where and how often to shop. Spending much more but less often, using everything up and lack of YS items have all contributed. Hopefully June should be much better as now have quite a lot of meat in freezer so that's a major expense out of the way but now need to work on the store cupboards, frozen and fresh fruit and veg so I can get back to batch cooking!.

I'm back in for June! My target is listed as an annual one but in all honesty, I'm not going to be anywhere near it this year 🙈 I've had a lot going on and haven't got a clue what I've spent to date so my plan is to keep to the budget of £300 per month for the rest of the year! I've got plenty in and have started growing my own recently so hopefully I'll be able to achieve it!
The main thing is to keep visiting this thread! 😉6 -
Hello all & and thank you for the new thread, elsiepac. I think I'll need to boost my "allowance" this month, to £480 please, as it's a 5-weeker on the pay front, plus I'll need to order in some more flour from the mill, provided they're allowing individuals to order just now. Also prices have gone rocketing upwards, buying mostly from independent traders, as they always do at this time of year as the fresh new crops come in from Europe whilst we're enduring the "hungry gap!" They'll settle back down shortly. I'm consciously trying to keep two weeks-worth of reasonably fresh stuff in, as DD1 works in a supermarket & is convinced she'll bring the virus home to us at some stage, so I'd like her to be able to relax on the provisions front & know we'd get through two weeks of isolation without developing scurvy!Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)7

Same as last month please £350. Going to have a look through my spends and see what went wrong in May. Hopefully, some of my bulk buys will see me through this month. I may need to do another g.f. bread order, as mine is like a brick when I try and make it. I've found a different company than the one I normally use so may see what they're about, as not keen on the bread from the other place. Otherwise ill be surviving off B free pittas as my bread alternative. How I miss toast
Its Payday today, so my month starts today. I will total up for May when I get a chance, as in work today also.
