GunShotResidue said:£36 at lidl over the weekend. Cycled 6 miles to get there and bought about 40kgs of shopping (stocked up on a few things like flour and oats that I haven't been able to get locally) and did not enjoy the cycle home! So £46/160 for June so far
I bought a joint of pork for £4.30 and untied it. Just under half became roast dinner for 2 adults and 2 kids, I diced some of the least fatty bits which will go into a stew tonight, and the rest we made into pulled pork that served 4 adults. I think I could have cut more off from the joint we roasted, next time I'm aiming for 2 portions of diced pork as well as the roast and pulled pork
Thanks,

It's (literally) years since I was last hear - namely finally leaving a very abusive husband and unhappy relationship far behind me. My daughter and I now live with my new partner, who is worlds away from daughter's dad and will eat anything I put in front of him!

Well done for getting out, @lushlifesaver. That must have taken a lot of guts.
Three spends to report for June so far - we got out of my nice little weekly shopping routine so have had a few haphazard ones, which are never anywhere near as efficient!March 2020 grocery challenge $921.76/$500AU
April 2020 grocery challenge $744/$800
May 2020 GC $724.11/$750
June 2020 GC $370.31/$700

Please could I join in for this month with £344.50 for the month of June .Thank you6

First spending of June to report. £1.37 at the beginning of the week on reductions and £24.43 today at Aldi. The £1.37 was for reduced bread, rolls and wraps which have all been frozen and should last us the rest of month. We have £74.20 left for the rest of the month and we shouldn't need to go shopping again for at least 10 days - though I might do a whoopsie run for some more veg later on in the week.December NSDs - 2/155

First spend of the month; £20.23 in Asda.
I will need to visit again on Tuesday for bread, stir fry, fresh veg and milk************************************

Freeze the mince in the packaging, “as is”, and use it like you would minced beef. I’d be tempted to halve the packets of carrot/swede and then freeze them, to make them a more manageable quantity. You can then use it in soups, stews and mashed.
The noodles are the hardest thing. How is your Chinese cooking? You could make a stir fry and add the noodles to that (home made Chow Mein). Alternatively, add them to a Chinese-style soup, like Hot & Sour Soup. (When I make it, I use egg noodles and always add more than specified.)
