£104.74 spent so far, out of £240 - not too bad as payday will be 26th this month, but i need to keep an eye on it!6

I walked a couple of miles to a butcher on Saturday, instead of buying my meat in the supermarket. It was more expensive than I expected but the lamb steaks we had on Sunday were delicious. If I continue buying there it will have to be "Eat better, eat less", and I'll have to make more veggie meals, no bad thing. I spent £17.39 at the butcher, £13.33 in Adli and £20.50 in Sains.Grocery challenge 2025: £650/1500 annual budget7

The poorly dog has been eating his way through my chicken supplies so have bought a 5kg pack with the rest of my bulk fund (and a bit of the food budget). After the weekend spends my totals are:
Groceries - £194.51/£360
Bulk Fund - £47/40
I do need milk, cheese and potatoes before the weekend and I am challenging myself to spend as little as possible on the following week’s shop (will be done on Friday) as we are well stocked up.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.757 -
Hi all, had a small grocery spend at home bargains and iceland yesterday, got my main shop from Mr T today delivered, couple of substitutions were not that great so had them refunded but told to keep the items anyway.
Just checked and I've already spent just over half the budget and we're only 8 days in. Will definitely have to reign in the spends for the rest of the month.Grocery Challenge 2024

Yes! I can tell you now that most supermarket meat will seem tasteless from now on. Yes, butcher shop meat can be expensive, but nothing compares to the flavour and quality. Even the mince is better. (Incidentally, I use 250g for a meal that feeds four, padding with aubergine pulp or grated courgette.). I write this as someone who has spent £34 on a whole leg of lamb.
It’s why we have a Meat Fund and a reasonable sized freezer.

Big shop done in Mr Ts this morning plus also spent £10 cash in the market on big paper rolls. Cash spends don't come out of groceries budget, that comes from Spending category! Not much cash been used since lockdown - haven't actually drawn any money since the start and still using what I'd drawn the week before! That's never been known before.

£22.90 spent since last update. On bits to keep us going (bread, milk, fresh fruit and veg ) before we do a main shop which will be tomorrow possibly. We are running out of a lot of basics like oil, and have no. Fish and meat so will write a meal plan again, as this helped so much as I only bought what we needed for that.So £81.30 spent of £250.00 ( doing okay)5
