My weekly shop comes in at £79.44 so I'm 56p below budget. I'm swapping supermarkets next week to try to shave a little more off and have buttoned down the weekly meal plan to try to reduce the cost of ingredients.8

£36 at lidl over the weekend. Cycled 6 miles to get there and bought about 40kgs of shopping (stocked up on a few things like flour and oats that I haven't been able to get locally) and did not enjoy the cycle home! So £46/160 for June so far
I bought a joint of pork for £4.30 and untied it. Just under half became roast dinner for 2 adults and 2 kids, I diced some of the least fatty bits which will go into a stew tonight, and the rest we made into pulled pork that served 4 adults. I think I could have cut more off from the joint we roasted, next time I'm aiming for 2 portions of diced pork as well as the roast and pulled pork9 -
£ 38 .92 in Morries for food and drinks
£37.33 take out for a treat for passing my uni assessments if my £200 budget I need to use up some freezer stuff this month
finances disaster but baby-stepping back to security:
2024 let's do this !!8 -
A quick visit to H*me Bargains to top up toiletries and medicines which I include in my budget. Bisodol, vitamins, paracetamol, tinted moisturiser, bubble bath, 2x shower gels, hair gel, hair perfume, clothes whitener and also nuts and a packet of rice crackers that I can’t get anywhere local to me. Also got a pack of reusable stainless steel straws and an eyemask which I won’t include ( the straws were a bargain £1.49 with a wee cleaning brush in recyclable packaging) . So £15.75 spent.
£59.10/£250.00 spent so far .Only other shopping this week will be milk when we run out and I’ll send OH who will only buy that 👍8 -

Could I be added to the list again please?
€300 for June
I had to suspend mine in March due to the lock down here in Spain. I couldn’t use my usual supermarkets due to the restrictions and my husband was doing the shopping and he’s guilty of picking up things we don’t need. He is now back at work (kind of) and I’ve been in the supermarkets by myself and we are allowed to go further so I can visit the ones I like.
I’ve spent €8.50 today on tuna, veg and water €291.50 left
€28.50 spent
this is from yesterday and today. I went to Eroski for things on offer. Safe to say I enough chocolate to last the month! Aldi today for meat/fish on offer. Today’s menu -
breakfast - I had banana pancakes with honey and Greek yogurt. My daughter had weetabix and a pear
lunch - daughter had croquettes and peas and I had mine with salad and mayonnaise
dinner - for all three of us lentil and minced beef lasagne. All homemade apart from the pasta. I will do homemade garlic bread (well I’ll add the garlic butter to some part baked baguette)
Daughter has yogurt, biscuits and ritz for snacks
€263 left:money::rotfl::T6 -
Hello all, can I join?
It's (literally) years since I was last hear - namely finally leaving a very abusive husband and unhappy relationship far behind me. My daughter and I now live with my new partner, who is worlds away from daughter's dad and will eat anything I put in front of him!
Anyway not to digress further - my budget will run to the calendar month, there's two adults, a child (6), a kitten and 2 rabbits in the house but I have decided to give the pets a separate budget. My daughter would usually eat lunch at school and a reasonable snack at after school club but given the current circumstances she hasn't been but I need to make sure I rein in our spending somewhat.
I'd like to go for £200 to run from today until the 30th. I'm going to come back later and get some meal ideas from the recipes index and I'll try and do a freezer inventory tonight too as I want to run them both down (we have two now - an in built fridge freezer and my small fridge freezer from my flat last year) get them defrosted and start again************************************

I started with £113.95.
Went to Asda this evening and got a load of 10p bargains: baking potatoes, carrot batons, chicken for sandwiches, parsnips, ciabatta. £14.27 worth of food for £1.80.
Spent £15.93 from my budget (low fat mince, cheese, bacon bits, pastry (due to the flour shortage), milk, Marmite, sardines, various tins, eggs).
So I've got £98.02 left.
I'm planning a chilli con carni, burgers, a quiche, a vegetable pie, meatballs in a spicy sauce, lentil dhal with saag aloo, pata with bacon and pesto. And pizza.
PS Why do we write Ald! and Tezco?2023 Fashion on the Ration
