Smashed it.
Not sure on whole school grade until this evening but all my bits have gone really well. Deep dive went really well.
He loved my history curriculum and was seen with year 11 this morning for GCSE observation which went brilliantly. Seen twice for English yesterday and he was concerned that the year 11 Level 1 stuff may be too prescriptive. So I went and did something proactive and did a sweep through their folders and took him examples of that same group writing poetry and pieces of their extended story writing from last half term and he's mentioned to my head this morning that I'd completely changed his mind with that and that "it's actually a very creative curriculum"Bottom line;

I was specifically highlighted in the management category for my department leadership, creative curriculum and subject knowledge.
Was chatting to the assistant head this morning and mentioned asking for something random and she said, "right now, after that feedback you can ask for anything"
So mulled that a bit and went into the Head's office at lunch and said "I figure now is the time to ask the company that own us for anything that will cost extra money. So on that basis, that of my feedback and having proven concretely that I can talk the talk with outside agencies, can we talk next week about a promotion to SENCO?" and he said "Yep, that sounds fair. Talk to you next week."Bottom line;

So still sorting out the SENCO technicalities but the Head has agreed the budget in theory with the company that owns the school! He's said today that he needs to sort out with them when the increased budget will kick in and that will either he will advertise the job in the Spring and I can technically start at Easter or whether it will be an advertise in Spring and then I start officially in September job. (Needs to be technically advertised externally even if they know it's my job- weird educational rules)
In exciting other news- I took my daughter to a lego discovery centre at the weekend- my lovely Sister in law paid for all of us. Spent 4 hours and my daughter absolutely loved it. She had my daughter for a sleepover on Saturday night as well- daughter had a great time.Bottom line;
