Been swimming and cycling yesterday and daughter wants to go on another bike ride today - going to wait until lunchtime I think as it's currently pouring with rain

Continued the "go outside" theme of the holidays. Got a great tan going on.

Actually had a very good family holiday with my mother (the one that was rearranged from Easter when my daughter was in the hospital) no arguments and very little stress. We did the Go Ape at Grizedale- daughter absolutely loved it; it took me 15 minutes to persuade my mum onto the first ladder but once she was on then she completed the whole thing!

Exam marking paid literally nothing last week so fingers crossed for a big payment this Friday.

It's going to be a lovely weekend this one coming; husband is away at a hobby event on his own (going with a friend) from Friday teatime so daughter and I have thw whole weekend together! We're going to meet up with one of my closest friends (and well known to my daughter) at Ikea on Saturday to help her pick out stuff for her new house (daughter absolutely loves Ikea- as do I so we'll have a great time.)

Just been catching up on your diary.

I'm having nightmares at the thought of Ikea.  I refuse to go in unless I'm being bribed with a hot dog at the end!

The big payment tomorrow will be...... £34. *eyeroll* Next week then!

I absolutely love Ikea. As does my daughter, took her for the first time at Easter. She sat in pretty much every bed display! (With her leg in plaster and having to scramble up from a wheelchair! I'm imagining it will be much easier this time!)

Sounds amazing! Also feels a bit like a dose of the freedom you'll have once you're in your own place. I love IKEA too, though sadly since I moved I have to cross the Thames to get to my nearest one, so it's a bit of a journey. Jealous of your (I suspect) meatball dinner?

Absolutely! My friend and I both ordered the 12 meatball dinner and both donated 4 meatballs to my daughter who demolished 16 meatballs in one sitting!

Had a BBQ at my sister in laws with husband's family this week which was lovely. Husband aggrieved over the fact that he described himself as "highly agreeable" in a conversation about personality traits and his uncle snort laughed and his sister plain told him that was madness; but after a rant in the car on the way home he's over it. (Didn't seem to understand that ranting over someone disagreeing with you doesn't really strike many agreeable chords, however he believes that the fact that his sister burned some fish on the BBQ and he was nice enough not to mention it solidly proves he definitely is agreeable so he's moved past it now.)

There's also something odd going on; we've been making friends (outside of work) with one of his colleagues and his wife who are both very nice people. After the whole argument over me going out for the second time in 12 months..... (*slow blink*) husband has been distinctly pushing me to befriend the wife (who to be fair is really nice) but then when she asked me (in front of husband) the other week if I'd want to go out for drinks in town he's got weirdly pushy about it. "Have you text M yet? You need to sort out going out with her so she doesn't feel blown off by you" etc etc So we're going out on Friday for a meal and to a cocktail bar...

Don't get me wrong, I like the woman and I am always happy to go out and socialie with people, but it's so weird that he's pushing it
