You are probably thinking of "Mumsnet".ljm2105 said:Here was me thinking this forum was for support for those actually struggling with this situation, how wrong was I?!
MSE isn't a "there, there hun" type of forum. If a poster has rights which are being ignored by a third party we will tell them and how to get the necessary help and support to enforce them. But equally if a poster has few or no rights we will also tell them, more especially if the poster appears to have unreasonable or deluded or illogical expectationsIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales8 -
Thanks noted, really glad I’m came here looking for advice.I just take my lazy, doesn’t want to work self off and complain on mumsnet then 👍🏻2

Just to point out Martin Lewis who is chair of MSE actually said workers with child care issues should be placed on furlough and should be able to request it is extended if they are still struggling so maybe want to bring that up with him see as you all think it’s so unreasonable?
Bye all0 -
"Should be" is very different to "Have to be" and isnt in the spirit of the scheme whatsoever.
Ciao!0 -
Martin Lewis is just a journalist and TV presenter who puts his own spin on legislation which is not necessarily correct.ljm2105 said:Just to point out Martin Lewis who is chair of MSE actually said workers with child care issues should be placed on furlough and should be able to request it is extended if they are still struggling so maybe want to bring that up with him see as you all think it’s so unreasonable?

What he thinks should or shouldn't be holds as much weight as you or I saying the same thing. In other words nothing2 -
If you know that already, why did you bother asking on here?ljm2105 said:Just to point out Martin Lewis who is chair of MSE actually said workers with child care issues should be placed on furlough and should be able to request it is extended if they are still struggling so maybe want to bring that up with him see as you all think it’s so unreasonable?

What and where is your job? I am just wondering whether I can apply?0 -

Yes "should be" doesn't mean they "will be" I'm sorry you came here and didn't receive the answers you would have liked, this often happens with new posters.

I know it doesn’t mean they have to, if you actually read my post properly I wasn’t asking if my employer HAS to keep me on furlough, and I actually did say I have volunteered to take unpaid leave for days I can’t get childcare for those of you that think I expect to stay at home on 80% wage endlessly while others continue to work. The one question I did ask was whether an employer can actually refuse you taking time off unpaid to look after a dependent which no one has answered because they were too busy judging me (I have since found out the answer to this elsewhere)
I’m so pleased you are all in a situation that where necessary you have suitable childcare in place that allows you to be able to work when required. I didn’t come on here for sympathy, I was writing in response to the post to say I can understand the difficulty of their situation because I’m in a similar situation but it’s become apparent this isn’t a place to come for support0 -
I thought you had gone?
And i assume you were told the answer is no?0 -
Try locum work then - god-daughter receives £20/ hour as a qualified vet nurse.ljm2105 said:
I’m a registered veterinary nurse so if working 11-12 hour days/nights with minimal breaks, covering weekends and bank holidays and being payed well below the average for the level of qualification held is for you then you might want to consider it as a job.Grumpy_chap said:
