According to NS&I twitter feedThey now have a queuing system to even get on their website.Debit card processing times are now over a week.Cheque clearance times over two weeks.ISA transfer times are 90 days plus.Maybe time they stopped accepting new applications !5 days to acknowledge a compliant.15 days minimum, up to 35 days or longer to respond to compliants!

Let them stop accepting new applicants and then you have a long line of people complaining that they want this and that and NS&I is not available
If things were back to normal, then there would be no need to work from work and all those people who are now working from home would be taking the train and rushing off to their offices.
People seems to think that the folks at NS&I and other financial institutions do not have lives or have family that may be severely impacted by COVID.
There was a thread yesterday where was someone was complaining about the wait times for Legal and General to sort of her dead husband pension payments.
This gave me some thought of the absurdities of human beings - your mail maybe delivered, but it is not being opened, email may be slow to read. Staff may be off sick with partners, parents etc
We are dealing with a pandemic that no one expected to happen when we celebrated the New Year on January 1, 2020.
It's going to take a hell of a lot of time to get it back to pre-COVID and post COVID is going to be a rude awakening for a lot of us because we are not prepared for what is to come. Things are not going back to how they were regardless of what some people may think and say.
I have had to call NS&I, long wait and had to retry. I have now figured out that the best time to call is after 5 p.m, with the busiest times being in the mornings and after lunch.

Hence my comment "Maybe time they stopped accepting new applications !" This is what First Direct did.Bylthly accepting applications whilst patently not having the resources to processing them is just cavalier. They can't even process withdrawals and closure requests for existing customers in a timely fashion, which should be their priority.Time they acknowledged their situation publicly and acted accordingly.Nothing on their website highlights the delays.1

My daughters Child Trust fund transfer took 74 days in total from start to finish.

Similar issues - transferred Junior ISAs from Nationwide to NS&I for both my children. One took around 40 days, the other 55 days. Got there in the end. The needed to see a scan of a passport for one of the children, and a countersigned copy of a birth certificate for them both. The slowest bit was from completing the form to initiate the transfer from Nationwide to confirmation that it had been received - perhaps the issue was with Nationwide.0

Over 80 days here now. first JISA NS&I received money on 9th July and processed within a week, second JISA received by NS&I 10th July still hasn't appeared and no acknowlegement or response to emails or written compliants so far. (Telephone line can't tell you anything about stuff they've lost in their backlog) Whole service is run by ATOS and seems to be a complete mess.
