To be honest I've a feeling they are saying they are open as up until now potentially I've not been able to go there and see if they are open or not, this giving them an excuse not to refund any of my ground rent
Are they permitted to be open under the lockdown rules that have been in place and apply in Wales since 23rd March?
Even if they are closed, your ground rent might still be payable.

    Im sure the virus doesn't

But Im also sure the people in Wales where your caravan is, don't want people descending in hoards to them

I live in a coastal resort with thousands of caravans and the only people allowed on site are those that are shielding others, that is HC workers who don't want to risk taking the virus home to their families
  • Hate to tell you this but wales has taken a completely different approach to Boris.

I know this is a super virus but I doubt wether it would know if it was in Wales or England, so maybe it's time all four governments of the UK got together and sorted something out

Well that's the law of unintended consequences with having devolved govts

Thanks. What I can't understand is whose advice do I take I live in the west Midlands but live closer to where my caravan is in north Wales than I do to london.

From talking to  a holiday chalet park owner it seems that although the the governments public statements are perhaps of necessity imprecise, the park owners are being given pretty clear instructions.  It isnt a question of you taking advice, but rather whether the caravan park owner is permitted to let you into the site.  I suggest you talk to him.

Don't come to Wales. There are still strict measures here and every day the police stop and turn back motorists.  The police are on both the main and the side roads and have everyone's support to keep the public safe.
Part of the reason is the health infrastructure is so poorly resourced it cannot cope with people who are resident, let alone any extra numbers.
    Don't be that selfish person.

Please don't come to wales.  We are behind the rest of the UK, our numbers are rising.   We have struggled all through this with tourists coming for a nice walk in the countryside, the tourist hotspots were full again this weekend just gone, no doubt there will be a spike again during the next 14 days.  There are stop and search blocks on the A55 today at Queensferry turning people round as they come to Wales.  Please, respect the people that live here and keep away.

What are they searching for - suitcases, flasks, hidden sandwiches?

Lovely place and we'll be back when it is safe.

    • When on someone else's be it a road, a pavement, a right of way or a property there are rules. Don't assume there are none.
    • "Free parking" doesn't mean free of rules. Check the rules and if you don't like them, go elsewhere

Essentially yes.  They are looking for people headed in for a day out, fining, and turning them back.  People were reported as boasting about coming up from Essex in Betws this last weekend.  Absolute morons.  We'd love to have you back when its safe, from a struggling welsh pub landlady who wants nothing more than it all to be over.
