Valli.. every day is a wobble at mine! haha.. I think their mental health is definitely most important right now.. the parents are often struggling mentally as well so it is as much about not overwhelming them as the children. Dot is very much finding the home learning a struggle.. but she has got a lot of spellings and her 1-5 9 & 10 times tables pretty much down.. those will help in a lot of further work and when she is an adult. She has been writing letters to friends and family which we have posted. She made bookmarks for granny and drew a picture for a family friend.. so she is doing some stuff just not school provided. We watched millions of animal documentaries.. I LOVE them.. the Titanic one was good too.. but so sad.. the salt water had eaten away all the bodies but the shoes of those lost were all laid in pairs... children, women and men.. it was heartbreaking.
Frozen on for the 1000th time
Off to do dinner.. chips and peas Twinkle said!!

Ok so spoke to another chap about the drains, long and short of it is the decking will need to come up in part to sort it. The stink in my kitchen from the waste pipe when the shower, kitchen sink or DW has been on is horrific, cleaners won't touch it... £300 though... but it upsets me daily. In fact I am laid on the bed crying now as I'm finding this so overwhelming and my kids are driving me insane, they're not doing anything wrong, we've just all been together for way too long, I hope to some divine inspiration that they do get to go back before summer. No flying at all other than pouring more cleaner down the blasted waste pipe..9

Here for you Dizzy and ASB. Having the kids home 24/7 is tough. Please dont be hard on yourselves, just do whatever you need to do to get through this. I really hope schools get opened up soon, or you can see friends and family to give you a bit of a break. ASB I know its easy to say but it looks like you have a solution, and its crap having to find £300 and having to take the decking up but it might just get sorted once and for all, then all the worry of this will be gone. Hugs x
DS1 is running out of things to do, and getting bored, so interrupting me a lot when I am trying to work. If I say anything he gets this sad hurt look on his face and then I feel bad. He is 21 so he does understand that I need to work, but he doesnt really want to be on his own. The only solution is to start work really early while he is still in bed.
Watching Boris now, a lot of people around here don't seem to be taking much notice of it anyway. I am glad I can carry on working from home for now. House fairly tidy, one load of washing to get in and put away.10 -
Dizzy, sorry you can’t get support that really sucks
Fayole, Hope DD is ok?
Pigpen, hope Squeak is better soon poor thing
ASB. Ouch on the quote to fix, I totally get the crying! There have been tears here too. Hoping you day/week gets a bit better
Not much flying done here our day started with an argument about why we need to eat breakfast at the table and long rant about how apple juice is crap and I never get the good cereal, followed by screaming and shouting about having to put clothing on. Major meltdown (ds) and extreme death glares (dd) during schoolwork, more arguing and thrown dinner across the kitchen because I am a ‘big fat meany bum bum’ (ds) and ended with everyone sent to their room crying including me!
I just can’t wait till tea time for round 164 with the little people….honestly feel like trying to be a good mum is the worst thing I could do. Will try to pick up the kitchen a bit after dinner before going in for the final round of bedtime….SEND HELP or WINE or Both!
Not many positive vibes left here but sending the few I have at the bottom of the barrel out to you all

I think you need wine MeandThe2. I might join you. Anyone else? I blitzed my office last week and DS has been sanding the door in there (the dog scratched at it about a year ago) to paint it. Its great that he wants to paint it but he has made a mess he says, I dont even want to go and look.9

I hope that wine bottle is big, as I think it might have to stretch around quite a few of us...
Lots of hugs and whatever dregs of posivibes, sticks and spoons that I may have left to everyone, especially Dizzy, ASB, MeandThe2 and YL. You are all doing a fantastic job. Today I really believed that I was not qualified for or up to this parenting job, tomorrow I hope to feel differently.
I took DD to the dr this afternoon, as I did get to speak to the surgery, and they did want to see her if she was up to it. Bloods were taken, examination done, discussions had. She seems brighter now, so fingers crossed for tonight to pass peacefully.Flying today has been limited to washing a load of towels (subsequently rescued when the pegs started blowing off the line), cooking dinner and WULTD / clearing up the kitchen afterwards. Crumbs cleaned from the toaster as my pièce de résistance for the day. I have debated running the vacuum around the LR now, but that idea was shortlived. I am thinking of trying to get back to reading my French book while everyone is doing stuff in other rooms, as it needs me to concentrate ( and be armed with a dictionary!) and I am out of practice. Anything other than tackling the knitting frog...9 -
