You're not laughing at 'thinly veiled dissatisfaction' but at the desperate parents who will pay over the odds
I dont really think parents are that desperate. If they can afford it they would probably pay, but if not like my parents they would explain they cant affod it at this cost and just tell theirs kids they wil buy it in the new year:j

Well said, if it was too expensive or sold out when I was a kid, I got an alternative gift and I was bloody happy too! No one "exploited" my Dad!

And here's people moaning about Ebay sellers ripping people off and at the same time pointing out the '"low, low" prices this evening.

You can't have it both ways folks.

Is it right though that so many people are making money out of these poor sods who just want to make their kids happy? I think it smacks of exploitation myself.

Ebay has always been known as the place to get things that are hard to get at normally higher prices.

If people bid then they are exploiting themselves. Maybe our kids are too spoilt we dont want to say no sorry they had sold out so we pay the price, either hours/days searching the net or above the odds on ebay. The choice as parents is ours.

I got a Wii for a friend within 24 hours and luckily got a pink ds in game on tuesday, (1st place I called) so if youre in the right place at the right time you can get them but I think its unfair to accuse sellers of exploiting buyers I choose not to pay over the odds on ebay, if my kids go without over christmas then so be it. When I was a kid a new bike was a 2nd hand one out the paper, kids these days are lucky!! ;)
  • Anyway I'm off to bed, because I am KNACKAD, I GENUINELY hope you all get a Wii tonight, good luck!
  • Just bought a wii from http://ozone-electronics.co.uk £179 excluding VAT and postage is £20. Delighted to finally find one at a "reasonable" price. Hope this works out..

You are worse than all of those tax paying retailers selling packages at £400.
