Check the back of the transformer box for the input voltage... hope I'm wrong, but we don't want any accidents of that scale.
My cousin is bringing a DS Lite over and I got an accessory pack - I hope someone that knows for sure sees this so they can help.
NTSC is just a way that signals are sent to TV's and a format for DVD's etc... It's basically a way that Hollywood can rip off Europe
Yes that's right the US electricity does run at 110 volts but this assistant guy said that if I buy a world travel adapter plug then it will work in UK. Got me worried now. Don't want to end up as FRIED TURKEY xmas morning!!!!:eek:0 -
With them saying the following
"Assistant in store said that it would be compatable for UK with just a electric plug converter"
I assumed that would be ok.
First off, it depends on what they mean by "an electric plug converter" - I've never done what you are trying so I don't know - there might be something that takes a 240v supply into a 110v device.
BUT.... Check the back of the transformer, it might say something like "Input Voltage 110v-230v" in which case, you'll be OK - go for it (remember brown to live with the fuse, blue to neutral!!!!)
Try these... just get them... and don't worry - you'll know its right then.

A travel adapter will simply mean that you can plug the 2 pin American plug into the three pin UK plug socket, gut it WONT convert the power from 240v to 110v so do not plug it in until you have found a UK power adapter. I think you will be ok, ebay probably have spare power adapters for sale0

there are loads on ebay and CHEAP try this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AC-Mains-Charger-Power-Adapter-Supply-for-Nintendo-Wii_W0QQitemZ160188230047QQihZ006QQcategoryZ147176QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
But like previous poster says, it may be that the transformer can cope with UK power, it will be the boxy looking thing that is between the plug that goes into the wall and the bit that goes into the Wii.0 -

Actually I just read a little more of that advert and it says -
This is a 100-240v auto-switching AC Mains adapter for Nintendo Wii. It is the ideal replacement for your Nintendo Wii Console mains adapter.
The most important feature is that it has the added auto-switching function allowing it to be used all over the world where as the original Wii power supply only works in one region, where as this one works all over the globe!
Whether you have a UK wii, or an imported Wii, this adapter will work with your console (unlike the original power supplies)
So it looks like you will definitely need an adapter.0 -
