Bounce back loan Santander

Santander are still at it - despite their website clear as day stating that a personal account is ok (and Money Saving Expert stating the same with info from Santander) - they put me through submitting tax returns etc - all done with evidence of gross income - see extract below as of today 16th june 20 off their website relating to eligability - yep got all of those things and yet after chasing them after waiting 10 days - got a rejection as "the account must be the main account you use for your business" - well my main account like many is Paypal - and the monies are distributed via my wifes and my accounts.
But - the irony is that my wife has a Santander account - a personal one - her business payments are taken online and deposited to Tesco - so her Santander account is "secondary" yet guess what - yep she got a bounce back loan - clearly source for the goose is not sauce for the gander - me!!!! any one got a similar issue?- You have a Santander or Cater Allen current account opened before March 01 2020
- You’re a UK-based business that has been impacted by Covid-19

I tried to apply to Santander today, but couldn't get past their first page as it said my account details don't match their records. Except they are correct. Several phone calls later and Santander accept that there's a technical issue. They also said they had this problem when the loan applications first went live, but thought it was resolved. Obviously not for me. Bit of a pain, but they've escalated to their tech department.
Anyone else had/overcome this problem?

I was initially rejected but appealed and had the decision overturned. I received my agreement and signed it 4 weeks ago.
im still yet to receive any money.
Santander are useless.0 -
Did anyone have trouble uploading their self assessment form? I've been trying for over a week. It's in a format that they say is acceptable but it won't accept it.0

so i applied for a BBL last week and Santander has just CLOSED my personal account - they confirmed as much when i called them to find out why i couldnt logon. The man who I was put through to said as a direct result of my BBL application they have made the 'business decision to withdraw all my banking services'. Am shocked and appalled by this and will be appealing to the FOS as it seems deeply unfair to respond to someone facing financial difficulty with further limitations. I present no risk to santander and my BBL app was genuine and accurately completed - all they had to do was decline my BBL application, not kick me out as a customer altogether!0

Santander T&C states you should not use a personal bank account for business banking purposes. You basically waved a red flag at them and said "look at me breaching your T&C".
The usual outcome when the FOS look at people moaning about closures is that the bank is within its rights to withdraw banking services as long as it is not discrimination.
all they had to do was decline my BBL application, not kick me out as a customer altogether! All you had to do is not breach T&C and use a business account instead. Time for you to move on to another bank.

Hi
Applied for bounce back loan 8th june , needed to set up feeder account, got email saying that I had been accepted for bounce back loan signed and dated all documents, went to the HSBC retrieve site for the feeder account was asked to enter verification code which I was sent via HSBC entered code screen went blank tried to login again nothing . After hours of trying to contact HSBC I finally spoke to someone who told me that the feeder account was cancelled and that I have to reapply again. Which i have done.
Has any one had this or can anyone help.

We applied for our BBL on 4th July when we knew we would be looking to get staff back to work 20th July, and apart from the web page confirming the application was received and the reference number, we have heard nothing by email, phone etc. Called the customer services line every 2 days and they say they have emailed the loans team. Nothing heard. Have had an account with them since 2008 and all contact details etc. have worked fine in all that time - and having checked them again the staff say all is good. We applied for a BBL on our other business a few months ago and this went through in a few days despite having to update a few details on the account which were not the same as the Co. House registration. This application is for a separate business ,different type of business, separate accounts with the bank so NOT a duplicate application. We have heard nothing and the customer services staff are unable to help - so wasting their time and mine. WE WILL BE UNABLE TO ASK STAFF BACK TO WORK THIS WEEK AND WILL RUN OUT OF FUNDS BY WEDNESDAY. We will be liquidating the company and calling in the administarators by next week so all the local businesses we use will also suffer as a result as the BBL was to pay them what they are due. We have been unable to receive any other government support and saw this as the chance to get things back - instead we will lose everything - including the house and the farm which means the animals will be given away or destroyed. We are desperate and living off a credit card.0

I feel your pain, there are a number of business’ out there who desperately need these funds. What is concerning, it’s not just Santander, Barclays have been a nightmare and if you scroll through this forum, you will see other banks have been doing the same practices. There is something very fishy about what’s happening.0
