Thanks for all the info and help so far, guys! It is genuinely appreciated.Today I received this from BWL, and just want to clarify that I am pursuing this to the end and have a chance of winning, off the back of the fact that I was never the driver in the first place (being the main factor)??Because extra costs and a CCJ are obviously something I don’t (no one does) want to end up with...0

Wait for the official N1 form from Northampton CCBC. Is you address up-to-date with the PPC and BW Legal? Last thing you want is for it to go to the wrong address and for you to take no action. Then it's back to the NEWBIE sticky to find out how to complete the AoS. BEFORE you submit your AoS post the issue date of the claim form and wait for some guidance from @KeithP with regards to when to submit the AoS and your deadline for defence.

The wording of that letter seems somewhat naughty ... inferring that a CCJ is inevitable and will be entered against the defendant regardless of what happens.
A CCJ can only be entered IF:- A claim is filed, AND
- The claim is not defended (so a default judgment), or they win at a hearing, AND
- The defendant doesn't pay the judgment within the allotted time

Because extra costs and a CCJ are obviously something I don’t (no one does) want to end up with...No-one risks that here. Not even if you lose! And the £269 is already inflated with more costs than a clued up Judge would order anyway (and no CCJ is risked because the odd person who loses, then pays).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Indeed, why not complain to the regulatory body.

Big problem with BWLegal is that they think they are judge and jury with all the empty threats of CCJ's
The assumption they think they will win is the usual rubbish and a very poor and feeble attempt to scare people.
No wonder Judges get rid of them ASAP. It has reached the point that nobody can believe anything they say, and as we see, Judges are probably of the same thought.
But, they will continue to robo claim old parking tickets they know nothing about and will be acting for near bankrupt parking companies.
2021 will be very interesting and the winners will NOT be BWLegal

I detest the way this industry always picks Christmas and early Summer to file court claims, in the hope that people don't defend.
I hope this lot are proud of filing a batch of claims on 11th December. Imagine using a law degree to do this to people.
The firms that really drive these cases to court are not the PPCs at all, and that layer of scammery needs to be driven out. The leeches need to go and that includes the debt recovery impersonators and the robo-claim solicitors. Scrape them off and consumers might just get a fairer experience from parking firms.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Not just PPC scammers, , I issued a claim yesterday against a property company.
