Well it was never a fine, and presumably they claim you owed £!70 and given you have paid half, of course theyre going to chase you.
We know absolutely nothing about your case, so can only say - have you READ the newbies thread? Yes or No.4 -

TNC are talking rubbish ......... they cannot increase the amount and you are not paying today.

Pay a sc@mmer and they will always ask for more2

It is not a fine, it is an invoice from an ex-clamper to compensate them for the alleged harm they suffered when you did what you did. We call it a scam You should never have paid them a penny. Do not pay them anything more. Do not speak to them on the telephone.
Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully, when life gets back to normal, it will become impossible for those scammers who are left to continue their vile trade, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.2 -
Why would anyone pay tnc
No one has made you do anything. You have done this of your own free will ?(devils advocate......)1 -
I had a ticket of £60 which I didn't pay and then got a letter thru post the fine had gone up to £125 didn't pay and another letter came through with £170. So cause the fine kept on going up i ended up paying half of the amount £85.
But today they called chasing the remaining amount..
Which I don't have they didn't accept any lower..

So cause the fine kept on going up i ended up paying half of the amount £85.Did they agree/suggest to you paying them £85, or did you decide just to do that in the hope/expectation it would end the matter? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

They suggested I pay the £85 then and today they just called saying I need to pay the remaining amount1

This is not a fine, you were never fined.
It is really important that you understand that.
The problem you are now in its that I've you give a company like that money they were not entitled to, they will ask for more as for want of a better word/term of phrase they have caught a mug who is easy to part with their cash.
if you want help, and even the chance of your money back you need to read the sticky thread and get an understanding of things (ie this is not a fine)
it will help us to help you if you can say who's car park this relates to, so who's car park was this ?From the Plain Language Commission:
