If all your income is subject to CIS tax deductions, and you started your business before 6 April 2019, it should say you will be invited to apply, but there have been some inconsistent results.nbcoop said:I've been told not eligible. My full income is from CIS. Does this effect it? Does anyone know. Stressed to bits.0 -
It didn’t ask for gateway details either when I checked eligibility just email and mobile number. But will hopefully be able to log in to gateway when I do the grant claim0

Applications will open to taxpayers on a staged basis between 13 and 18 May, with the portal opening on different days for different taxpayers. HMRC will email taxpayers who have provided an email address (when using the eligibility checker or previously) to confirm when the portal is open for them. Taxpayers can also use the eligibility checker to find out whether the application portal is open for them.Taxpayers then log in to their government gateway account (or select the option to create an account) to complete the application process. They are presented with a detailed calculation and are asked to:read and accept the eligibility criteria;complete declarations, including to confirm that the business has been adversely affected by coronavirus; andsupply the bank account details into which they would like the grant to be paid. The taxpayer does not need to provide any information about their income – the calculations are all done by HMRC based on the tax returns submitted. HMRC will check the claim and expects to make payments from 25 May 2020 within six working days of the application being submitted.Latest news0

Don't follow your accountants advice if they're telling you to link it to the account you submit your vat returns from that was giving you the error.deejaybee said:deejaybee said:Anyone got best HMRC contact number for this scheme ?Havnt been able to get hold of my accountant today ( he acts as my agent to submit my self-assessments )I am eligible , and able to claim from 08:00 13th May, but was not able to supply contact details online ( would not let me use the Government Gateway that i use to submit Flat Rate VAT returns ) so i am assuming i need my accountant to supply those details via the method he uses to submit my self-assessments....In case anyone is in a similar situation:Spoke to my accountant - advised to log onto my Gov Gateway, and apply to add Self-Assessment to it - I have done that and now have to wait for Activation Code to come in the post.
The error message you're receiving is because you are attempting to use a business acount for something that was designed for individuals rather than limited companies. You need a personal account from the sounds of it.
