Self-Employed 80% help. Should be eligible but apparently not...?

I have checked the government web site with regard this scheme this morning to find out I am ineligible for this scheme also. Ineligibility is based on the fact that over the 3 year period my trading profit is less than my not trading profit. My non trading profit is from a work place pension after retiring early. The reason my non trading profit is less than trading profit is due to only setting up as self-employed in February 2017. Therefore trading profit for 2016-2017 was minimal resulting in lower average. Once established my trading profit for following two year was greater than non-trading profit. Note my tax return for 2016/2017 states that I only started trading in the February. I have emailed HMRC with this issue this morning and await a response. Surely the scheme must take this factor into account.

Anyone got best HMRC contact number for this scheme ?Havnt been able to get hold of my accountant today ( he acts as my agent to submit my self-assessments )I am eligible , and able to claim from 08:00 13th May, but was not able to supply contact details online ( would not let me use the Government Gateway that i use to submit Flat Rate VAT returns ) so i am assuming i need my accountant to supply those details via the method he uses to submit my self-assessments....0

I recently tried the online eligibility tool and it says I am not eligible, i have been registered self employed since September 2018 and have submitted my tax return for 2018 / 19 and 2019 / 20.the 2018/19 year I had 5 months PAYE and 7 month self employed so is this why i am not entitled?Panic mode activated.I have had no work since mid March and nothing looking likely in the near future.thanks for any advice.0

Unfortunately if your PAYE gross wages in the 2018/19 year are higher than the self employed trading profits then you will not be eligible.daveorourke84 said:I recently tried the online eligibility tool and it says I am not eligible, i have been registered self employed since September 2018 and have submitted my tax return for 2018 / 19 and 2019 / 20.the 2018/19 year I had 5 months PAYE and 7 month self employed so is this why i am not entitled?Panic mode activated.I have had no work since mid March and nothing looking likely in the near future.thanks for any advice."All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well."

I've been told not eligible. My full income is from CIS. Does this effect it? Does anyone know. Stressed to bits.0
