    Morning all 😃

it’s a long weekend 🤣 were going to have a day off school today and do some ‘stuff’ instead. Not quite sure yet but will involve being outside at some point as it’s lovely out there. Other things:
    make scones
call a few people to catch up
    load of washing out
continue with dismantling some furniture DH started yesterday
double check meal plan after shopping arrives to check all meals still work with what has been delivered
    some gardening
walk later, we found somewhere new yesterday and really enjoyed it
    family board games later

have a good day all. Purps.

    Morning all :)
Managed to get quite a bit done in the garden yesterday AND the dreaded tax returns (go me!!) Today I think I will need to do some cooking and food prep, especially as I have a delivery coming from a local wholesaler turned farm shop. Where to put 10kg of flour is uppermost in my mind - unfortunately they have sold out of the 3kg bags I had last time. Edit, just noticed on the invoice that they have changed it to 16kg!!!  I don't foresee having to buy flour for a long while. So, plans are as follows:
Make a cake - lemon drizzle probably, as I have a sad lurking lemon
    Make a mushroom quiche
Frantic last sort out of larder
Sort out delivery when it arrives (it includes veg and fruit boxes)
    Load of washing, dry outside
    Quick hoover round downstairs
Water seedlings and anything else that needs it
Lunch will be paninis from the freezer
Dinner will be either mushroom quiche or something from the veg box.
Phew, all cooked out now! Ended up making scones (fruit and cheese, batch of each) a rhubarb crumble (and extra crumble mix for the freezer), an apple pie, some biscuits, a small 'bread and butter pudding' made with a couple of scones that DS's GF made last week, and were a bit stale - no waste here, and it will be nice with a dollop of cream and a few strawberries out of the fruit box that arrived earlier -  as well as the aforementioned quiche and lemon drizzle cake. Just got the quiche out of the oven. Washing is out, I still have the watering to do, and the hoovering can wait till tomorrow. I think after all that, OH can do the rest of the dinner (jacket potato and coleslaw). Now need to freeze most of it! And unpack the fruit and veg boxes.

Wow dawn thats some baking session. I do love days like that though, it feels very productive.

I’m going to bake scones today (didn’t do it yesterday) - we’re not that greedy 😂 I’ve a few other things I’d like to do:

double check measurements on some material I’ve calculated for a blind and order
Carry on with diy project DH started yesterday - this will involve some more sorting and cleaning
    submit meter readings
open doors and windows to let fresh air in
cook some chicken whilst oven is on
    some
    badge work for smalls
    practice my foreign language
put washing dried outside yesterday away

have a good day all. Purps.

Yesterday I received both a phone call and an email to say that I am getting a full refund, not a voucher, for the holiday accommodation we should have used this month. I wasn't expecting to be successful and anticipated having to apply for a chargeback on the credit card.

Also yesterday our wholesale delivery arrived from our usual suppliers. We club together with a collection of friends and family to make an order. Unfortunately, no flour or sugar arrived, the driver was very apologetic (not that it was his fault) and explained the supply issues they were having particularly in getting flour in any size packaging. We still need to find a solution as most of the households involved bake all their own bread as well as making cakes/crumbles/scones etc

We had yesterdays delivery delivered to a secure outbuilding, partly so it was safer for both us and the delivery driver and partly to save everybody else's orders coming into the house and having to be taken out again and partly it was also quicker as the driver was able to park about 1 metre from the outbuilding instead of about 10 metres from the front door. Today we need to sort it into households, bring our things in and put away, arrange deliveries to 2 households who are shielding and collections from the remaining households. We all live close by so nobody will be breaking any rules as all journeys will be incorporated into shopping trips or daily exercise.

Today is lovely and surprisingly sunny, they had forecast rain and cool. The plan is all of us to get out and work in the garden for an hour.

     Today's plans:
 play a board game as a family
 bill people for wholesale delivery
    watch a film together
 send my friend the recipe he is asking for
    all meals from stores
 stick to the meal plan
    maintain freezer inventory
 check I added scones to the freezer inventory yesterday
    Pmp
 enter a couple of competitions
 keep on top of emails
    progress children's badge work
Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases

    Morning all :)
@PurpleFairy26 I shan't be doing any baking today!
@Baileys_Babe good news on the refund :)
Sunny day again here :) Not done much yet, so better get on once coffee finished.
Dog walk @ 5.30 am. A bit later this morning as I figured fewer people would be out. Only saw one person on their way to work (I think).
Must hoover round downstairs and tidy up today as it all looks a bit messy
    Put yesterday's dry washing away
    Clean bathroom
Water whatever needs it in the garden later
DS might pop round for a quick socially distanced chat from the back gate when he is passing - I will put a chilli plant out for him, as I seem to have quite a few!
Ring friend to see if she is ok
Lunch will either be some of yesterday's quiche and coleslaw or celery soup
Dinner will be a mozzarella chicken thing I saw online yesterday. I have both in the freezer, so thought I would give it a go.
Hope everyone has a nice day :)

    Morning all 😃

wet and grey here this morning but the garden will be most appreciative. I’ve not put a wash on yet, will see if it brightens up, if not it can wait until tomorrow. Other things for today:

pancakes for breakfast to make it feel like the weekend
strip two turkey wings I cooked yesterday
make a child friendly curry with ^^
make naan bread to go with
make a pudding, possibly sticky toffee, I think I have enough ingredients
    clean the hall
do some birthday research - there are a few coming up and I will have to order something online given the circumstances. Have funds in gift ‘pot’
draw some potential garden designs out and discuss with hubby
look on g00gle maps where we walked yesterday to get my bearings and see if we can explore further today on our walk

have a good day all. Purps.
  • Morning purps  it's grey here too. Set to rain, but not raining yet so am heading off to the allotment for an hour or so  just to have total solitude is blissful! I haven't been there in a couple of weeks so looking forward to it

    Today:
plant potatoes and do some hoeing
dog goes to co-owner this morning
    watch a film later
    play games & do colouring
    really need to clean bathroom
    want to do some sewing
    make sure nothing is perishing!

    Morning all :)
Bright and sunny atm but I understand it will get cold and windy later, with a risk of frost :(  No mention of rain, which would at least be useful. Must cover tender seedlings with fleece. Hope this is to be the last of the cold weather!
Up at 5 as usual these days, walked the dog and was back by 5.45. Only saw one other person, riding a bike, passing by on the other side of the road.
Not many firm plans today - I have a loaf in the BM, an Asda delivery scheduled for this afternoon - going to try to manage with no further shopping for a while! It is fresh stuff I run out of though, and it doesn't keep fresh for long, so I can't buy a lot at once and hope it will last, cos it won't! Still, we are beginning to get food from the garden again, so hopefully that will help.
I will see if there is enough washing for a load, check the bird table and bird bath to see if either needs topping up (the bird bath will, lots of splashing earlier), and water the greenhouse seedlings plus anything else needing it later. My clematis is coming out, and its dark pink flowers look lovely contrasting with the yellow climbing rose that scrambles up the other side of the arch :)
Lunch today will be HM celery soup from the freezer, and dinner will be jacket potatoes, quiche and salad. Which reminds me, I must also cut some salad leaves!
