Afternoon all... just!
I'm feeling much better about everything this week. I know what money I owe and where and am tracking our spend like crazy - so much so that we've pretty much stopped spending so there's nothing to track. Should leave us with a big surplus from May's pay days and a large chunk of it will be going to the CC balances. Whilst we're not spending on petrol (around £350 a month), the gym and food out I'm putting it all to the CCs. Seeing a massive positive of the lockdown there! Unfortunately my DSIL who is a nurse has a lot of symptoms so is being tested for the dreaded C today
so trying to cling to other positives and concentrate on what I can control.
- all food from stores (I honestly don't think we'll need to shop for a month except fresh). Breakfast was oatibix, lunch is JPs but haven't decided on filling yet, tea is pasta, pesto and quorn chicken.
- no update needed on SS as nothing out today
- started sorting out summer clothes yesterday and categorised into:
- too good for lockdown (went back into a bag and under my bed)
- zoom/#clapforcarers outfits (when I need to socialise and not look like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards)
- perfect for lockdown (what I would have given to charity this year, I'm updating my insta each day with my outfits)
It's also great because I put on 2 stone last year and have now lost a stone of that so am in between fitting into my original clothes and fitting into my new (ebay and charity) larger clothes. I thought I was going to have to scour ebay for new clothes that fitted this year but hopefully now I won't need too - another positive! Need to finish the last of the sort out of these as got exhausted last night.
- the usual work
- we had our decking delivered this morning so DH is going to start digging that out
- there's a wash load on but it's raining so will be hung around the house like Widow Twankeys.
Hope you all have a good day!My debt free diary

Afternoon all
Hope your SiL is ok @rdone, best wishes to him. Hopefully it will be just a cold - they are still going around as well.Usual 5am dog walk for me, use up muesli for breakfast (bought it for overnight guests back before Christmas, so about time it went!), fed dog and birds, kitchen clean up, and so on (boring). Definitely with you on being bored of never ending round of cleaning and not much else @determined_new_ms !Very chilly this morning first thing, warmer now but very windy - good for drying the washing, hopefully! I have cut some salad leaves and pulled some radishes, which we had for lunch with toast, pate and chutney. Dinner will be a curry I think, to use the spinach that I cut yesterday. A vegetable one, as we have had meat for the last couple of days
We will have naan with it, unless I can be bothered to make flatbreads, as I want to make a rice pudding as well, as I seem to have loads of milk. Don't want rice for two courses!Other than that, I have been digging around in an ugly corner in the garden where there wasn't much soil, but lots of rubble and junk. I have to be a bit careful there as there is a cable buried there (though I am not talking heavy earth moving here, I doubt if me and my trowel would have much impact on an armoured cable), but I want to plant a honeysuckle to cover up the ugliness and provide some more shelter for the birds. The soil is much better than it was, as I have been adding compost for a couple of years to try to encourage an everlasting sweet pea that never seems to do much. I have made an edging with bricks, so I can add more compost. There isn't much growing there at the moment apart from the weedy sweet pea and some mint, though I did pull out some bluebells which grow everywhere here - I am sure they will be back though!I am going to finish my coffee, and spend a couple of hours starting a stocktake of my business stock I think - that will pass a bit of time!5 -
Thank you @PurpleFairy26 for starting this weeks thread

Good to see you back @determined_new_ms and that your only bored not something much worse.
Well it wasn't exactly the best start to the day firstly I knocked a pint of water over the cluttered kitchen table, then I poured tea into the milk jug instead of my mug. I have a very easy dinner planned so we have some hope of eating tonight without too many disasters.
OH is wfh full time at the moment, for which we are grateful for. He informed me this morning it is looking like he (and his colleagues) are going to have to work overtime this weekend, it's likely to be 9 - 5 Saturday & Sunday, we are missing him and are seeing less of him than normal, which seems weird as he is in the house.
Today's plans:
Check the bank accounts
Update spends diary on yesterdays spends
Update freezer inventory after putting away yesterdays groceries
Home educate the children for free
Move the meal plan around so tonight dinner is easy to avoid more problems
Wash hair with the shampoo bar
Let my hair dry naturally
Download some free home education resources
Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases
One income, home educating family7 -
Evening everybody. Went shopping this morning and adhered to a temporary ban on buying tinned beans! Lets just say I have enough. Also did an act of shopping at home - I had an old pair of running shorts that are a bit small so have never worn. But decided that after my weighing in have lost me 4 lb so far and I was wearing a big t-shirt over them - so decided it was close enough. So nice to run in shorts - celebrated w first 10 k run since October.
Have paid £70 extra in utility bills this month so am not too happy, and then 100 for water - I knew they were coming, but it hurt a bit all the same.
My mood is a bit low and unfocussed, but at least I managed to go out for a long run on my day off. Back to screen and student chasing tomorrow.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

I love this category - I am hoping that a lot of what I'm wearing at the mo will pretty go in the bin, when the world opens up again. Just cut my hair as well, which looks entertaining, but nice a d short and a lot less felty. And well done for shedding a stone :-)rdone said:- perfect for lockdown (what I would have given to charity this year, I'm updating my insta each day with my outfits)Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Morning all,
@rdone I hope your DSIL is ok.
@ditty1234 I hope that the run helped your low mood.
I decided to get up an hour early this morning as I still hadn't got round to closing off my April cashbook, checking off the credit card statement that went out or set up my May cashbook/spreadsheet. All done now and was quite easy as we hadn't been anywhere other then the supermarket or done anything! Just needed an hour of peace and quiet and access to the pc (kids using it during the day for school work and on an evening for gaming!) Now that I'm up to date again I'm hoping that will help my low mood.
Todays list going forward
wash a load DONE and hang on the line to dry DONE (then put straight away - I'm refusing to do any ironing during lockdown so we're all choosing easy clothes!)
home schooling supervision (ds2 won't focus if left on his own)
dig out another exercise dvd from our stash as I'm a bit bored of the one I'm doing (will also do a joe wicks session with the kids and go out for a walk this evening with dh)
update freezer inventory
meal plan for the next few days
update Mr T click and collect order
Hoover around - finding this hard to fit in during the day with dh wfh, will do it as next as soon as I hear his alarm go off! DONE
continue breaking the dishwasher tablet in half as it cleans everything fine
look back on my "annoying things" list to see if there is anything I can knock off or do and then knock off!
That's enough of a start and I can hear dh moving.
Take care and I'll catch up with all your news later
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Morning everyone
its a beautiful day here and has given me some motivation! So is sitting in my almost clutter free living room. I got rid of a kids table and chairs that’s been sat in the living room for maybe 2 years. I gave it away via a local group as I needed it gone. I’ve been meaning to sell it for the past 2 years so it had to go.
ive already hung a load out on the line and I’m just sitting enjoying a cup of tea and an episode of criminal minds whilst monkey boy is still in his pit.
i have put weight on with lockdown! This is not a good thing as I’ve lost so much weight that I can’t be creeping back up. I’ve decided it’s due to not exercising! Today I MUST clean the garage so I can get on the treadmill. Really if I’m sat here on an evening watching tv I can be in the garage watching tv walking on the treadmill. My step count for the past few weeks has been shocking which won’t help with the weight gain.Food today is chicken and chorizio for me and monkey boy is having a picnic lunch. Tea will be lasagne made with turkey mince. So much nicer than steak mince, plus it’s cheaper, less fat and more protein so it’s a win win. There will be enough leftovers for tomorrow’s lunch so bonus.
right off to finish my cuppa and then get dressed and ready and into the garage
