That is not the correct dvla document - the correct one is blue and white and note that the one that I posted says ‘vehicle services’ in the bottom right hand corner. It just shows that you would have all been scammed too. My bank looked up who had taken the money and vehicle services and I can assure you that they have nothing to do with the dvla.
the form was blue in the past and has since changed to green

it seems you did not use the website address from the form (which is the correct address) are you able to see from your browser history which site you went to?

Oh thank goodness, that’s what my last genuine reminder looked like and I thought was going mad as I renewed via the correct link without any issue and wondered whatI had missed!

The bank believed the correct form is blue and white, and I did go via the .gov web address but there is something about the scammers being able to spoof the dvla website? I have contacted the dvla and I am yet to hear back from them. I will take the post down for now until I find out more.
As an ex bank worker I can assure you that working for a bank does not mean you are suddenly an expert in Government issued forms, as you have found out.

Check your browser history for exactly which website you visited - look at the address very carefully - I’d bet you a chocolate eclair that it’s different to the one posted on your correct form above.

I think you might have opened Google / typed the address into the search bar rather than the url bar - came up with results and you clicked the first on the list.

Since this is not a "scam", but simply a mistake on your part, your bank can't help you with this..
The fact people are realising they are having payments taken from their accounts, are curious because they are not sure for why would indicate they have fallen victim to someone who created that situation to exist! That fact got them to reimburse most of the money they took for a service they were providing me I wasn't aware of or using.

Just to point out that the post you quoted is over a year old and the poster no longer has an account. That's why the user name comes up as 'Deleted User' and has no posts.

Can't believe I'm here in 2022. But my girlfriend, bless her... She has a Spanish phone, and like the first complained said, on her phone it was the first Google result.
Check out the trust pilot reviews for the company, its hysterical.
They respond to 5star reviews entitled 'easy quick way to tax my car' with a thank you template, they can dismiss as automated.

I agree, it is a scam, whichever way you look at it.  It is clearly designed to trick someone moving swiftly. The details of what you sign up to are not immediately clear, you don't even have to create an account to make your payment. You have to create it TO CANCEL IT. And within 24hrs of the first payment.

They are scum, pure and simple.

My wife has just fallen for this one. The bank picked it up and flagged the initial 50p and first monthly payments on our credit card as suspicious and sent me a text message. Not able to get into that account on vehicleinformation.uk to cancel it, just says it doesn't recognise the name. I'll just write of those payments. Well done the bank for spotting it!
I've cancelled the credit card and ordered new ones. Just as well we have alternative cards to use in the meantime. Shows how easy it can be if your not aware of these sort of traps.
  • Yep me too I got confused and I’m ex police ! And in a hurry I clicked on to this website that came up first from my browser depending what tax wording is input. I was doing several things at once and have to admit my guard was down. The site certainly bears some similarities with the DVLA with the style, invitation to check your registration and then the fact the next page invites you to pay for this vehicle indicating what tax is due. Only under the button to press do they mention the contract details and monthly subscription and I found to be in smaller script than the rest, all of which I felt was misleading.
    WHAT TO DO?
immediately on realising my mistake I froze my debit card with my banking app and asked for a new bank card. That way no money was transacted. I sent an email to cancel any subscription account they may hold under my email address and advised them it was my personal belief that their contract misled me contrary to the requirement of good faith under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and when taken in the round amounts to what I believe to be an unfair contract and services.
I received an e mail back Stating my account is now closed due to a payment issue!
So for all those that say how did we get caught out or confused, well done, I’m  glad they didn’t experience this problem. For those that have, I have explained what actions I took to ensure no money left my account. I simply wont give any money to these people no matter how much on a point of principle and I would be happy to attend court as necessary to hear any judge’s view. Hope this helps someone.
