  • Morning everyone.

    How are you all doing?

Nothing to update from me - I really want to try to do some actual paying off outside of payday, cos this waiting to update is soooo frustrating. Well, that's next month's target!

Taxi - that sounds intriguing - hope it's good news.

    Happy Easter everyone.

    Hi everyone!

Made a big payment to my CC today + my minimum payment on my second CC has come out. Updated sig to show this. Still got my loan payment to come out at end of month so will update again then.

Struggling a bit with things at the moment, the whole debt thing is depressing me. But when you come on here and see how positive everyone is breing it really helps!

Thanks everyone for sharing your stories/totals too xxxx

Hi everyone ...nothing to update from me either....
Go on then I will tell you...my sig will need to change as darling husband got an offer on his MBNA card of 0% until jan 2009....so I'm awaiting £2900 into his account which I will then use to pay for the two windows and front door....the rest along with my tax savings and holiday savings ...I will pay to my holiday...
I am going to pay for my holiday on my AMEX card which gives 5% cashback and pay the card off in full as I do each month.
    Are you still awake?
I also get nectar points for my holiday.
So I will look like I owe more money (2958) but then the money I would've saved and paid in cash to the windows can go as overpayments to the CC so not more debt and gives me breathing space...
    Hope I explained that ok...
  • Taxi - you've made my head spin (or it could be the red wine!). Either way, think that I've grasped it's good news so :j .

Alimac - I know what you mean. This is a long challenge and sometimes it seems like a lot of effort for no immediate reward, but I know we'll all get there in the end.

Hi all not really anything to update until payday on the last day of the month... still over a week to go and no overtime this month!!!!

I just want some advice on something.. Tescos said I had to sell my shares or sell my shares when I left but I didnt get the letter for ages due to them not having my new address. So they sold some to cover my Capital Gains Tax and NI etc which leaves me with 42 shares at about £178 and I received my share certificate yesterday at my old address cos Im home for the week end. I could do with the money to take some off one of my credit cards but is selling them really the best idea with the way shares are at the moment and it would only leave me with about £150 by the time I take off the fee for selling them. Im really not sure what to do.

Also was reading the posts about having holidays etc. I have decided to treat myself to something not to do with my flat which is to do my bike test this year before October when they make it harder. I do already have a 125CC bike and all the gear (skid lid & jacket etc) and my OH said he would help me pay for this as an early xmas present and my dad gave me £50 for my bday to start the 'bike test fund'. I also think I could get a bit of a discount on the cost of doing the training and test cos Ive got friends who know the guy that does it. And it will cut the cost of travelling. Sorry it sounds like Im still trying to justify it.

If Im not back on here before Easter I hope everyone had a good one!!!

    Hi everybody,
Just read this thread from start to finish and it is so inspiring. I know it is really late in it but I would like to join and set myself a target from now to Christmas if that would be ok. It will be the first challenge I've joined and I think it would really help me to stop just reading/lurking and actually do something about my horrendous debts.
Thanks and well done to you all so far
    Tara x
  • Good morning. Hope everyone's ok and doing well.

Tara - welcome to your first challenge. How much are you aiming for by Xmas?

Well just my usual payment of £330 this month towards my debts, well it is an over payment of £6 on what I am menat to pay via the CCCS!

Things have been really tight and havent been able to make any over payments but must get on to it soon.
