    Morning
I'm still here, and have hopefully saved my self a few quid by getting rid of my Cahoot loan at 19.9% to Natwest for 8%, main thing is I'm expecting a refund from Northern Rock for PPI payments, so can throw some serious cash at this challenge, fingers crossed at least £1000.

Was falling into the faffing zone late last week and started playing with the Whatsthecost cedit card calculator, 111 years to pay off my targetted debt !
(Guess I will see the next eclipse then) Worked out at 65k interest, certainly motivated me again .

  • Morning everyone and welcome to those joining.

    Everyone is doing so well.

I don't have anything new to add, but I just keep plugging away. I'm not at work this week, so I'm hoping to catch up on a few things and make some extra money.

Have a good day and watch out for that faffing. :)

Thanks polly for starting this challenge - it is keeping a number of us on the straight and narrow!

  • I agree with hypo - thanks Polly :D. This challenge has definitely given me a focus and seeing other people doing so well reminds me that if they can do it then so can I xx

  • Just listed some stuff on play.com, if it sells it will net me about £40 after I have sorted the postage and packing - every little helps and all that.

Also just set up a shiney new PayPal account so I can start to sell on ebay again (I had problems with identity thefy on there before so I have been putting it off but I have a load of Monsoon clothes to shift and they always seem to sell well on there so biting the bullet again)

  • Hi just thought I'd update my totals

So far this year have paid off £1,317.50
    Total left to pay £13,460.50:rolleyes:
Really hoping to be sub £13,000 by the end of this month:confused:

This is slow going & at times, such as last weekend when the car battery gave up & the kettle broke, I felt that the world was against me, really annoying as that would have been another almost £100 off of the debt:mad:
Just got to think positive & at least I didn't add to my debt with the battery & kettle purchases:p
Keep your chin up everyone, we'll get there in the end!

  • Morning everyone.

I just wanted to say thank you to you all.

My own motivation is a bit hit and miss - I seem to be all "I can do this, just go for it" one minute, and "I'm never going to get out of this, I just want to pull the duvet over my head until it's all gone away" the next minute.

Hearing how well everyone is doing shakes me out of wallowing and back into doing, and I know we'll all get there in the end.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Hi,
Can I join please:o I know I am late joining, but just realised that although I have been doing quite well paying off the debts I am still 'faffing about'. Had long talk with OH at the weekend and realised that we need to take it more seriously. So no holidays this year  We have set strict budget and plan to Ebay as much as we can, etc to make extra money. My biggest motivation is to pay off debts so that I can get a less stressful job and have time to enjoy life a bit more.
Anyway, total debt is £12,378.42. Don't know how I can pay this in a year - but am going to try.
