Oooh just spotted this thread (I really MUST pull my finger out and come here more often!!) and would really love to join the challenge - am I too late? It seems impossible on first impressions to clear such a huge amount of debt (around £16k for me) by the end of the year, but then if I really put my mind to it it is possible. I'm sure if I joined in it would give me the kick up the a*$e I need to at least try!

Good luck with the move Madmich, hope all goes well.
Still no more funds to add for me, but have done a few mystery shopping jobs, so at least i know i am making extra money. Can't wait till the end of the month though, to see if i can put any away and increase my total. However my jar for loose change has become full so i've tipped it into my big washing tablet box and have begun collecting again. Am quite pleased as there's quite a few £1 coins and silver coins in there.
NatashaP, you don't have to go for such a high amount as £20k, some of us are going for £10k, still a lot i know, but may be more manageable.:j Live on £4500, £2531/£4500:T 101 in 1001 (52/101):j:beer::j

I had been doing quite well in terms of not spending, and I had planned a big ebay listing session this weekend. But then have had bad family news which meant that I have spent £30 on vaguely nice [not lambrini] wine to console me and others, oh well, if you can't spend a few tenners in times of trauma when can you - back on the wagon for me tomorrow though. The ebay weekend will be a write off but hey, there is always the weekend after, family is more important after all.
In short, no progress for me but at least nothing has gone ON my credit cards. Roll on February.£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

Another struggler this month, things are tight. Eldest son has had a serious growth spurt and I can't stand the half mast trouser look which will be upon him if I don't invest soon ! Thing is these school trousers aren't cheap and never make it to my youngest sons wardrobe. Add to that youngest will need the full secondary kit in 6 months so I'm trying to put some away for that.
Anyway been slicing the pie and made a few quid on Amazon, combined total of £26.35, waiting for £70 from Quidco and Topcashback.
I'm trying to invest/start up my cottage industry as on the Up Your Income board, but after kids haircuts, school uniforms etc all my extra earnings are being swallowed up so quickly.
Still heads up, no point being defeatist in the 3rd week of January.

We've just paid out all the normal monthly payments, so I can add £1498.30 to my total. I'd been hoping for a bit more as we've had quite a bit of extra cash in from various sources, but we're about to move house, and spent £700ish already on solicitors and mortgage fees, and keeping the rest of the cash for now as we'll certainly need a lot more to move!
My challenge total so far is therefore: £3206.30. 16% of the way there!0 -
Another one having a tight month for January!! The kids are now in France, so the expenses of getting them there and the saga of the lost passport (see my diary if you want more details!) plus getting the car fixed means that most of the stuff I have repaid this month has had to be "reborrowed" to fund!
However, I am pleased to report that overall, I am still on the right side, and my debt has reduced a little further - note the word "little"!!!!
I am now just over 10% of the way to my total. I have also started a new job and once I can be sure that the salary is coming in, I can get cracking on doing some serious debt damage!!!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
