I'd like to join but don't think I'd get ANYWHERE near £20k.

I am applying for a second job but with Uni 2 evenings a week, skating 1 evening a week, seeing OH whenever he is free I think I could probably work Fri nights and all day Saturday.

I'm looking at things to place on Ebay but don't think I have anything. What do people on here usually sell? I have a laptop (but no hard-drive & not sure if it will work with one), Friends videos but do these sell anymore? Books - do these sell?

From end of Jan (my next pay day) I will do a DMP review and look at paying £400 ish a month instead of £268.50

So my aim I think is £5k ish
  • I sell anything and everything on ebay if its not stuck down and Ive not used it recently then its on ebay!! you can search for things that you have got to sell and watch them to see if they are worth selling before you list them. Also check out the daily clicks I think there was a thread for them on the board somewhere.

Also an update on my total I won £30 on bingo yesterday if you put £20 in then the gave you a 500% bonus but it only worked if they emailed you. And Ive got £90 coming from quidco so Ive already transfered that in to my bill paying account to clear some debts... I won't reduce my total just yet until it has cleared. Also this month should be able to clear one of my smaller debts...Ive given myself a target of what I would like my debts to be each month and Ive already made so many overpayments to one that I will have it clear 2 months early. Yay!!!
    How is everyone else doing??

  • Count me in! My DMP payments will pay off £14,388 (if I don't increase - and I'll want to!)

So I only have another 6K to find - I'm in!!!! - as you can see from my signature I want my total debt to start with a 4 in 18 months time so that would really help.

Thanks - I'll keep you posted!

    Good luck everyone.

Debrag, try Amazon for the book, especially if you have any old text books as these usually go for good money, i've had some text books go for £20 - £30. If your not sure how to do it check the ebay and auctions board on this forum as they have a guide for newbies. Also worth looking at the 'Up your income section' for some ideas such as doing paid surveys and mystery shopping.

  • Hi Everyone,

Can I join too please ... I have also spent 2007 faffing around ... I posted my SOA , keep a spending diary for about a month ... and then proceeded to spend for England   (hangs head in shame) .... for 2008 I really need to get a grip so I will join in if I may :D

I currently will pay £8676 on normal payments, so to complete this I will aim to pay off an extra £1000 per month (I know it is £11324 but by aiming for £12000 its a nice round figure:D )

I will go and create a sig with my debts in it

    xx

evening all. im back early from my christmas break. id had enough in manchester seeing family as conmstant tension with in laws was driving me mad. and also very disapointed as husband forgets he takes £20 a time out of the bank and now we are back in his overdraft and in the same mess as before the mortgage beak so now i have taken his bank card of him and told him im being in charge of finances untill we are straight. either that or ill leave him.
so heres to hopefully a prosperus new year. well paydays been so theres another £321.18 to go of the debts. hoping to start paying of extra on the laptop again this month and in feb we have someone renting our house in manchester so that will be an extra £400 a month. also hopefully moving to cyprus in july and the RAF will pay us an extra £400+ just for going there so should do well fom that.
also going to do slice the pie properly ebay and amazon like mad and hopefully do some match betting.
back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed
  • right... I think you all need to tell me off!!!
My OH and I went to the shops today because we had nothing else to do plus we realised that we had forgotten a few xmas presents which I paid cash for. And we had some vouchers to spend... well went into a few shops and I was good and didnt buy anything but we went into the last shop and I bought 2 pairs of trousers (I pair that I do need but one pair that I dont really need but liked) £70 in total and after the voucher came off it was £50. So Ive been telling myself off all day and Im going straight back to the shop tomorrow morning to take 1 pair of trousers back.
