I think the cat has landed on an anti-gravity machine and is hovering, somewhat implausibly, far above the earth.
Retired 1st July 2021.
This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."2 -

Hey, topical username for a Trump question, are you Trump's longtime nemesis and House Intelligence Committee chief, Adam "shifty" Schiff ? If so, we'd probably prefer you don't continue your public arguments on our moneysaving forumOver the course of his presidency, Mr Trump has attacked and demeaned Mr Schiff in over 300 tweets and countless public statements using terms like corrupt, deranged, shifty and “pencil-neck,” while Mr Schiff has called the president “infantile” and accused him of bringing “ill repute to the office” of the presidency.

My username was created when Trump was just an ogre on a distant horizon and Adam was a simple clerk in the Oval office. There are many schiffs that pass in the night, so they can't all be a good thing.1

Maybe the bounce has gone out of its bungee. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)1 -
Posted this in another thread, so don't want to be considered spamming the forum. However, I found it an interesting perspective. Not that anyone really knows, but some of this rings true.

I can understand why people might be predicting market falls but if you were saying the same thing 6 weeks ago then a dead cat bounce is simple code for 'I called it wrong'. Or is the prediction right if the market falls at any time from when it's made?0

I think this unique situation redefines the historical model, which states keep investing and it will all work out in the end.
Does that mean a crash? Who knows. But I do think that businesses need a market to make money and I'm struggling to see that being a reality for some time. Long term, it probably won't matter too much, but not everyone has that time.1 -
