NST May 2020: May the force be with you. (Star Wars 1977)

Well, here we are in May. A new month and a new determination not to let the current situation get on top of me.
I love the quotes, Apple. Especially the Jungle Book one. It used to be a favourite of the Boy's when he was a tiny wee thing and he and my late Father used to march around the house singing it. The memory brought a smile to my face and a tear to my eye but it's a lovely memory.
So the budgets are done and all is well but I need to keep an eye on the food budget. Not used to online shopping and think we went a little bit mad last month but it will all be used. I've arranged a regular donation to SA as I can't get to their charity shop with donations or buy the war cry and have a chat to the man who sells them outside our local shopping centre.
Seedbombs are now planted, ironing done, a kind of meal plan made and I spent the afternoon having a "spa day" of sorts. My hair really, really needs done - I'm going to attempt the roots myself (not sure it's a good idea but needs must).
Today I'm grateful for:
Having everything that we need (I think a lot of people don't)
Fish in my Tesco delivery (I do miss having fish)
A lovely sunny day
Feeling more positive and determined
Himself and the Boy
Happy Anniversary, F0xh0les.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.11 -
Having had money off vouchers from sainz for months, we have no longer been sent any. I think that's really mean of them, when we are forced into much more supermarket shopping than usual.

Had a spending day today in the hope to not have as many across the month as a whole. Various household bits to keep things a bit tidier, other than that I don't see any further planned purchases for the month outside of grocery shopping. The weekend is going to be one of de-cluttering (luckily we have a large outhouse to use until the tips re-open) and organizing/tidying plus trying to kitten proof further rooms in the house so he can safely explore more
Budget is done for the month & looking fine as long as it is adhered to6 -
f0xh0les - Wishing you and your dh a Happy Anniversary.

Grateful for:
For completing everything of my shopping/to do list.

Had to pop to the supermarket just now to do a top up shop. I did buy some wine and two bars of chocolate, however the chocolate is to be melted down to help make my own protein bars, I've concocted my own yummy recipe, they're like rice krispie cakes with fruit in.Also bought two pint glasses, I keep smashing all our glasses, so I can never buy nice ones as I'll only break them sooner or later! Other than the wine, chocolate and glasses, everything was essential and on the list.
I have also ordered some vitamins online as it's not a NSD (I know there's no formal target this month but I'd like to keep myself in check).
Looking forward to a long weekend as I was meant to be off to Amsterdam, obviously that can't happen but I've still taken the days off so I will enjoy them!8 -
lcc86 sorry your Amsterdam trip got cancelled. I was supposed to be at Centre Parcs, can't quite believe it's not happening. Happy Anniversary to you and your bit of stuff foxgloves, have a lovely evening.

Today I am grateful for it being Friday and the end of the school week, for finishing my third dinosaur, for hitting my (much reduced) step target twice in a row, for the Pottery throw down, for dd's school giving them the Monday after BH Friday off too as a revision day for their exams, for my kettlebells.
