Hey Apple and Turtles
Please may I join the challenge this month? I want to focus on saving as much as we can and I might (saying that carefully in case I jinx it), just might have got DH properly on board with the debt busting.
Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.756 -
“This is the time to be slow,
Lie low to the wallUntil the bitter weather passes.
Try, as best you can, not to let
The wire brush of doubt
Scrape from your heart
All sense of yourself
And your hesitant light.
If you remain generous,
Time will come good;
And you will find your feet
Again on fresh pastures of promise,
Where the air will be kind
And blushed with beginning.” ―John O’Donohue, Benedictus Book Of Blessings

Happy 01st May!!!
I really appreciate the more relaxed forum this month... I will try and check in more regularly and stay sane amidst all the changes coming my way. Really liked the quotes and the passage you posted today
Today I am grateful for:
1) A brand new month and fresh start
2) My savings account should mature so have some dosh towards my car
3) Waking up feeling more positive!
I think I realised I need to avoid alcohol... I got a bottle of my favourite wine... but even only a glass a night I think affects my mood the next day. Last night I didn't have any and feel markedly brighter. Darn it!!!
Budgets balanced and chunk off my debt paid (now under £1950)... I may clear it with my savings - but whether I buy my existing car (at the end of its 3 years) or trade in and get another new one... I will probably rack up something more on my card (0%)... Will see if there are any deals on anywhere.
Have a great 01st May everyone!!!

Good afternoon everyone.
So 5 things I am grateful for today
1. Woke up to an email to say my annual bonus will be in next weeks pay
2. The sun is shining
3. I have my weekly video call with the girls tonight
4. I have all day to do nothing
5. I’m going to have a think about this oneTotal debt when my journey began in December 2022- £66,133.42
Current debt May 2024- £40,064.57
Repaid 39.42%8 -
Abundant - I was trying to think yesterday if I had imbibed this year, and came up with No. I have not bought anything since the cooking Amaretto spree in December. I have a bottle of fizzy stuff in the fridge as today is my wedding anniversary (dh forgot again - bless!) so I am feeling happy to have had 22 years with my bit of fluff and can still happily chase him up the stairs.Today is NSD1, I food shopped last night, and it was horrid. I do miss my ys bargains but that time will come again.I have £5.50 in reserve on a survey loyalty card I can use in The Polar Shop so I can stock up on frozen fruit or burgers as a treat if I need to get out. I can take a walk up the road and have an hour out of the house and pretend it is exercise. It is chucking it down here, I do not want to go out today and I do not have to, as my fruitbowl overfloweth and my fridge is rammed with veg and smoked vegan cheeses. I am going to do another inventory of what I have bought, what I had in, and then menu plan for that and see how many days I can go without setting foot in a shop again.Hooray for it not being April anymore.... Onwards into May!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
