    Dear Mr V,

As at the above date, there is no Cifas data on our systems registered in your name and date of birth at the address(es) you supplied.
Thats my CIFAS reuqest for information replay.

I  think many frauds going on nowadays and that is why.
The bank can decide not to have you as a customer, could be as simple as that.
That is completely true and I agree with you.

Doesn't give them an excuse to automatically block and close an account. They should give 60 days notice. They can only block and close the account immediately if you have abused their staff or have used the account for fraudulent purposes.

When was your account closed by NatWest? A CIFAS marker isn't always applied instantly.

Yesterday but I can promise nothing doggy or fraud related stuffs happened with my account it just got closed randomly.
  • I’ve also had my account closed with no explanation as of Monday the 27th of April, I wasn’t notified I found out myself when I couldn’t access my online banking and rang them. Called the accounts closure team to be greeted by a very rude women who told me I can’t access my money.

I have 4 children and a wife and I am currently at a phased return back to work for emergency works due to the covid-19 situation and she told me there is nothing NatWest can do, I cannot access any of my money and to ring back in 2 weeks to see if there has been an update with regards to accessing my money. She said my account has been closed and if I want to appeal there will be a letter in the post in the coming days.

Ive spoken to the financial ombudsman and generated a complaint with themselves and I would recommend anyone else this has happened to, to do the same thing.

To completely deny the right to your own money and make suggestions such as “you’ll have to borrow some money” when I asked how am I supposed to feed my family is absolutely disgusting in any circumstance let alone the current situation.

I feel you I also made a complain to them via the website and also to the finacial ombudsman usually they should give a notice of a few days before closing an account unless you suspected of fraud i even went in the branch and nobody seem to give a damn... Your situation is even more bad than mine it is a disgrace the way they treated you.

Alright, in that case get your fund reclaim off sent off to NatWest as soon as possible. I would check your CIFAS every 3 weeks or so because banks don't always apply them straight away.

Keep checking your other bank accounts daily for awhile, and if any of those randomly get closed then it's likely a CIFAS marker has been placed on you.

Is it my problem to chase my loan? I wonder if they change the status of the loan to settled should I even bother with opening my account again?
Natwest should ask me to make other payments arrangements right ?They should chase their money right...not me?

No, you can't bank with NatWest for awhile so don't bother reopening the account with them. In regards to your loan you need to speak to NatWest about how you'll make your repayments now your NatWest current account is closed. I would get this sorted soon so you don't accidentally miss a repayment then ruin your credit file.

Google "bank de-icing" could be one reason why.
Banks off load debts all the time, no point trying to contact them about it, they will be selling your loan account, wait until the new owner contacts you.
