    Thank you so much for sharing your story as it shows truly how determination can overcome all odds! I thought I was “crazy” when I got such a huge mortgage but now I am relieved that another single lady took a mortgage 15x her salary which truly would have sounded crazy at the time! Now I really know that all I need is to focus! I really feel hopeful because your story really shows that there is an end to all this hard but necessary journey to mortgage freedom! I am really impressed and welldone! You are an inspiration to us all single ladies!

    Hi Everyone

    @becksport
    Sorry for the long story but I just want to wish you all well and show that anything can be done as a 'single parent' (I hate that phrase) if you have the determination (and obsession helps).
    Definitely, it's great hearing these comments, you can do it! My mum brought me up with 5 of us, my elder siblings moved in and out of home for a number of years (sometimes at mum's expense) and me and my little brother spent most of younger years at home, with a non-existent dad. My mum did it on her own, worked long shifts for the NHS, overtime, we even had a few lodgers whilst growing up. I didn't have luxuries, but she made sure I didn't go without, trips, excursions. Its only now when I'm older I realise how awesome she is, and she did it all on her own, and you all are awesome. She paid off her mortgage 10 years early, retired but still working (she cant help herself), downsized and built 2 houses abroad. I just hope that I can do a 1/4 of what she did and I'll be happy.

    How does Marcus work?  Is that a fixed period savings account?
    Its a easy access savings account by Goldman Sachs, it was paying 1.35% before Covid now its 1.1% or something like that but unfortunately they are not allowing any new accounts. Then I have a 1 yr fixed savings account with them for 1.3% which has a measly £400  :# I didnt realise you had a 14 day window of maximum deposits so no more can be added to that now.

    Good morning laddies.
    What a lovely day I am having this end of London. The sun is out and I am just soaking it in sitting in the garden. Have had a problem with ants in the house for a while, for which I tried baby powder(not sure where I heard that it kills them?) well nothing changed. I then went  on and bought some ant powder and I don’t see them in the house anymore. But now I see where they are digging around the paving blocks. After some research I went on to buy a baiting station as this is supposed to get rid of the whole colony. Bought this from Amazon will see how that does but it seems to have some good reviews.

    🧚🏾‍♀️Can not wait!
    My mortgage is set up to come out on Monday the 15th. My mortgage balance before OPs was £472347 recently, direct debit will be £2375 which includes a preset OP). This will move my mortgage balance from £47Xxxx band to the £46Xxxx band! I just can not wait!
    I am just controlling myself not to get carried away with OPs as I want to save more on the side as well so that I can make a huge OP next year instead. This will help me just have more cash on the side while waiting to OP on a larger scale.
    All I dream about is being mortgage free!

    The OP 🐛 🐜 bug has really taken over. Managed another OP of £1000 today making total OP of £1700 for June as I had already OPd by £700 this month.
     From next month I have also amended/increased my direct debit OP from £277 to £400. Standing order OPs of £85/week will carry on as well. Will also continue to mortgage sweep 🧹 and make other random OPs. I want to see what LTV I can get to by remortgage date next year. So far 65% seems out of reach? 😔

     Apparently I was supposed to get a yearly mortgage statement in April? Well I never saw it? They said they will post another one. 🙃.
    Since today I paid in more than £999 they had to do a recalculation as I was curious to see by how many pennies the monthly payment will go down by, I asked them to keep the mortgage term the same. I know this does not give as much interest saving but I will likely not feel the loss too much as I will still pay it off within 10years God willing.
    All I talk about is Mortgage this and mortgage that!

    Hello @Accountant_Kerry and welcome. You are so lucky that you can split time with her dad. I would have loved that kind of arrangement and I could do all sorts during that spare time!
    Yes I am thankful that I earn a reasonable amount. I do try to work hard.
